Chapter Fourteen
Colton POV:
Everyone was around the fire with all of the girls passed out leaning up against their boyfriends chests. That included Clover, who smiled happily in her sleep.
Everyone was talking to each other and telling stories. Even Ben had his arms around Claire. That was cute. I hope I had that one day.
I was sitting down in a single chair with Penny leaning up against my chest past asleep. I looked around. How could this get any more perfect? The pool sparkled a crystal blue while the fire burned a blood red, emanating heat off of it.
One by one everyone went home, carrying their girls to the car until Me, Penny, Trevor, Ben and Claire were left. I then carried Penny up to her bed, and kissed her nose. I walked back downstairs and helped clean up with Ben, Claire and Trevor.
Gavin and his friends went out instead of coming here, which was perfectly okay with me. It made it seem less of a party and more of a BBQ.
“Yo, dude,” I said to Trevor who was walking around collecting the empty cups laying down, “Do you mind if I crash here tonight?” I asked yawning. It had to be around 2 in the morning.
“Sure,” He said throwing the bag in the trashcan in the garage. I followed him up to his room as he gave me a change of clothes. Changing, I said goodnight to Claire and Ben and walked back upstairs to the guest bedroom. I fell into bed, falling asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
Penny’s POV:
I woke up tangled in the sheetings. Sitting up and yawning, I found Clover laying next to me passed out. I shook her and looked at the clock. It was 12:45 pm. I shook her again as she moaned.
“Come on, get up!” I said pushing her off of the bed. She fell with a thump. Sitting bolt upright she pointed at me.
“Push me off of the bed again and I’ll hit you as hard as I hit my alarm clock on a Monday morning,” She said raising her eyebrows. I laughed and threw the pillow at her.
“That was unnecessary. I hate how my threats don’t work on you,” She said frowning, “But it’s really funny to see the guys faces,” She said and laughed remembering some of the looks she’s gotten.
“So are you gonna tell me about Ryan?” I asked raising my eyebrow and smirking at her. Her face got really red. Glad to see I’m not the only one who blushes.
“You were right,” She said smiling, “He is a hottie,”
“That’s not what I meant,” I said giving her a look.
“I know, I know,” She said giggling.
I raised my eyebrows urging her to go on, “He was amazing. He was so sweet and he’s taller than me!” She said and I laughed. He did have a few inches on her which made him have at least a foot on me.
“Yeah, he is tall,” I said laughing. It was hard to find guys taller than Clovers height as 5’11”.
“Well, I just can’t believed he kissed me!” She said falling back, her head hitting a pillow.
“I know! I think my mouth was hanging open,” I said laughing.
“His lips were so soft and sweet…” she said trailing off.
“I don’t need that kind of detail!” I said making a face at her.
Giggling she said, “He’s taking me out tonight,”
“That’s awesome!” I said getting really excited for her. That made me wonder what me and Colton were going to do tonight.
I got out of bed and walked over to put on a pair of sweatpants and tank top. I quickly brushed my hair and teeth before walking out of the bathroom to find Colton and Clover talking. Colton looked over at me and smiled making my heart melt. I didn’t think I would feel like that any time soon after what Johnny did to me.
I walked over and he put his arms around my waist pulling me close to him. Clover raised an eyebrow and looked at him, “I thought I made myself clear,” She said looking at him. This time he smirked, “I would wipe that smirk off your face before I knock your teeth so far down your throat so you have to pull your pants down to floss,” She said and I began to laugh. Where does she come up with this stuff?
“And what would you do to Ryan?” He said, his smirk getting bigger. Her face got bright red.
“That depends,” She said standing up and walking into the bathroom without another word.
Colton let go of my waist and took my hand in his. He lead me out of the room and to the steps. We walked hand in hand into the kitchen and found Ryan, Trevor, Uncle Ben, and Gavin sitting at the table while Aunt Claire was bringing in a big stack of chocolate chip, blueberry and regular pancakes.
“It smells amazing in here,” I said taking a deep breath and smiling. I loved Aunt Claire’s pancakes.
I took a seat and Colton took a seat next to me. Right as I was about to dig into my first pancake I heard a knock at the door.
“I’ll get it,” I said getting up and walking to the door before anyone else had a chance to. I opened the door to find a pretty blonde hair girl. She looked like a barbie. Maybe this was Leila? She was skinny with a small round face with big blue eyes, outlined with black eyeliner and lots of mascara. Her blonde hair was curled and came just below her shoulders.
“Can I help you?” I asked looking at her and smiling.
“Yeah, do you know if Colton is here?” She said looking around me. I frowned.
“Yeah hold on,” I said turning around and calling Colton’s name. He soon came over and he looked at the girl, his eyes getting wide.
“Colton!” She said shoving past me and threw herself onto him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his shocked lips.
I felt my face get bright red, my blood boiling. As she broke away she said, “I missed you so much!”
I turned away, all anger gone. It was replaced with a wave of sorrow, I felt a tear roll down my face as I ran to the steps.
