Being nocturnal, flightless and strong legs for climbing, you'll won't image the Kakapo being a parrot! They climb trees and like the flying squirrel, they'll glide to the ground. Their name actually means "night parrot" and their the heaviest parrot on earth! Kakapos give off a "musky" odor that kind of smells like a flower. To find a mate, the male will claim a "lek" and makes a loud booming call to attract females. For some reason, Kakapos only mate when food is plentiful.
