The Males have a "pair of highly developed air sacs" that are inflatable, which is located in the throat that can produce a unique sound which is used during courtship. Walrus are natural bottom feeders because the adaptation of scaling from of the hindlimbs that allows them to move at a slower pace to get more food. They're skin is .8-1.6 in thick which acts like a protective layer that aids in the cold waters and helps the males while fighting over females.
