Also called the Caribbean Manatee. Manatees slow-moving creatures because they have few predators but are able to move quickly when pursued. They have a keen sense of hearing but peer eyesight. For a reason unknown, they have no vocal cords, yet Manatees can make high-pitched squeals and chirps. Manatees often bump into things due to its poor eyesight. Calves stay with their mother for one to two years.
