                                                                 Scientific name:

Weight: ½-¾ oz Length: 5 in Wingspan:

Lives: Buildings, ledges or cliffs. Europe, northern Scandinavia, and Russia (breeding), Africa (winter)

                                                                      Diet:

                                                                  Chicks: 4-5

The birds make a cup nest that's made of mud. Chicks only stay with their parents for three weeks then fly away. However, the parents will look after them for a while and will care and raise another brood or two (possibly). It's still a mystery where the European House Martin exactly goes during the winter. Although, it's thought to be somewhere in Africa south of the Sahara desert.
