Lives: Throughout New Caledonia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Australia. In Woodlands and mangrove forests.

Diet: Insects, mammals, small reptiles, crustaceans, occasionally fish,

Chicks: 3-6

Males and females are very similar but females under parts are paler. The Sacred Kingfisher does not typically eat fish because they can survive a variety of environments.
