Peru, Andes Mountain in Colombia and Ecuador in forest mountains.

Young: 1 or 3 which 3 is rare
Also called the Andean Tapir and Mountain Woolly. All young Tapirs are reddish-brown with white stripes and spots. Juveniles get their adult coats at 6 months old. All Tapirs have a Jacobson's organ, which enables them to locate food and a possible mate, this enhance the ability to smell. The Mountain Tapir fur is silver gray on the underbelly and black everywhere else. Tapir are usually nocturnal and solitary.
