Lives: Arctic regions (breeds),

Diet: Small mammals, lemmings, other birds, ducks, arctic hares

Chicks: 5-14

Males are almost completing white while females have darker feathers. Owlets or chicks will often kill each other if food is scarce and will eat everything that their mother has given them.  Common in most bird species, females weigh heavier than males. Some Snowy Owls will travel south for the winter, however, some will remain in their tundra home all year round.
