Episode 19

My entire body was shaking, the room was dark, all I could hear was my heavy breathing and dripping water. I heard a door open and looked toward it, Gray stood there beside my open bathroom door in a towel, he walked over slowly, "Hey...you alright?" he sat on my bed, moonlight shone into the room.

"I-I had a nightmare..." I didn't realize how shaken I was.

"Try to calm down, you're shaking and breathing heavy isn't good for you, here, come here..." he pulled me close to him into a hug, I put my arms around him, "I'm assuming about Alec..."

"Everyone...was....dead..." he was wet, but I didn't care I just wanted to feel his warmth. He sighed and pulled me closer.

"It's ok Dusk...I won't let him hurt you..."

"Hey Gray..."

"Yea?"

"Why are you wet and only in a towel...." he let go of me and stood up chuckling awkwardly.

"Well it's pouring outside so when we got here I took a shower to wash it off," he scratched the back of his head.

"I got drunk at Lucys right..." I looked down and he nodded and grabbed his pants pulling them on, I kept my head down.

"Alright, stop sulking let's go, it's 2 am and its beautiful out, full moon, rain, let's go!" he grabbed my wrists and pulled me up, opening the window and jumping out it, dragging me to the ground, instantly soaking us.

"Gray!" I tried to run from him.

"Cmon!" he grabbed me from behind and started spinning me around, I laughed and squirmed against him as he spun around holding me off the ground.

"Gray put me down!" I said laughing and he spun me to the ground, I stumbled and turned aroud looking up at him laughing, his expression softened, "What's with the look?"  I tilted my head.

"Nothing, well...Dusk theres something I need to tell you..." he looked me dead in the eyes.

"Hm? Anything..."

"I know what day this is, the day you started dating Alec, the day you told us you were going on suspension, man I was pissed, but the day you got back, even more pissed. You know how I was, furious, enraged, I refused to leave your side but that aside...hear me, remember all those jobs we went on, just together, to get you off it," I looked down remembering all the fun jobs we went on, "The day you left on that job where you ran into Alec, I regret not telling you my feelings, the feeling I held for a long time, when you came back I had no right to tell you them, I had to put them to the side and just make you feel better as your best friend. Dusk...I know this is selfish, I'm your best friend, but I love you, I've loved you for so long I forgot how it happened, I wanna be with you forever, as your lover and best friend..." I looked at him wide eyed as he said that final phrase, frozen staring at him, he stood in front of me. I stepped forward and reached my hand up to Grays cheek, "It's not selfish, it's not selfish to fall in love," I smiled at him cupping my hands on his cheeks.

"Dusk..." he looked at me pulling me close.

"Truth is...I had given my heart to the wrong person that whole time..." my hands went to his cheeks to around his neck, our faces inched closer, inches, centimeters, no distance. Our soft lips combined to a kiss in the rain, I had to stand on my tip toes a bit to be kinda level with him, raindrops dripped down our faces. We both pulled away after a few seconds and looked at eachother, "We...better get in before you catch a cold," he chuckled a bit and picked me up with no warning jumping up to my floor (2nd) and going back through my window. I'm glad it was dark, because I could feel my face as red as Erzas hair, "I'm gonna shower...it'll be easier...as you said," I chuckled a bit, he nodded.
