Shadow Lord Arc: Words They Say

Episode 8

My younger self looked at me smiling, so innocent, so pure.

"So...why am I here?" I said confused.

"Well, you're in a coma!" she was so happy about it, it made me pull myself back shocked.

"W-what?! What do you mean I'm in a coma?"

"Well, it's not a large coma but if you had been any less stronger, you would have died with your father, or our father."

"So, Shadow Seal was a success? My friends are alright?"

Casual ass Dusk moment, she's fucking barely alive and cares about her friends who had a few bruises and are fine now, yep...

"Yes, all of them are fine..." my younger self smiled at me and slowly disapeared. "Remember Dusk, I am you and you are me..."

"Wait! Don't leave me!" I reached out.

"Don't worry, momma and papa are coming," she smiled as her body faded into mist. 2 figures took her place, there in front of me stood my parents.

"M-mom....D-dad..." I said softly, they smiled at me.

"Hello darling," my mother shone her bright smile, the one that brought happiness and light to all she showed it to. All I could feel were tears running down my cheeks, All I could do was run up to them and hug them, feel their fake warmth. That's all I've wanted to do for 8 years, to feel their warmth again, be by their side again, but I knew it could only happen in my dreams.

"I'm sorry," I bawled, "I'm so sorry, none of this would have ever happened that day if I would have warned you mom, then dad didn't have to be hit with that spell, you didn't have to die, It's all my fau--"

"Hush child," she said softly, "This was not your fault, this was fate, fate hurts us, makes us learn, makes us shed tears, makes us smile, and makes us laugh. You have shared these wonderful years with your guild, your new family and seeing how you charged straight in today to destroy your father for their sake, I have never been more proud of you."

"Yes Dusk, this has been a long time coming but I thank you my daughter, for reuniting me with my beloved Estinara," my father said, I stepped back a bit and looked at them, he held her hands in his, "Even though you aren't with us and we aren't with you, we are always in here," he placed a gentle hand where my heart was, "You have grown into a beautiful young woman, and we will always be watching over you."

They smiled at me, I smiled back and then suddenly, the entire world I was in started to fade away. I reached out to my parents but my hand went right through them, their kind and proud eyes watched me as everything faded to black.

Slowly light poured into the room, I looked around and sat up. I was in a...infirmary? Morning light shone through the window beside me. I looked down, bruised and bandaged, flowers and cards stood beside me on a table. I heard a loud clattering of something hitting the ground and looked forward, Gray stood there motionless staring at me wide eyed.

"Dusk?! You're awake!" he said shocked.

"Gray...where am I, what happened...and please don't yell so loud..." I said rubbing my head. He quickly ran over to me and embraced me burying my mouth into his shoulder, I felt tears drip onto my back.

"You're in the FairyTail Infirmary...everything is ok now..." he said softly.

"You sound and look awful...have you been with me this whole time, how long have I been out?" I said gently pushing him back, still groggy and kind of weak. He stood in front of me and sat on the bed, he had bags under his eyes and he looked exsausted, he looked down at the ground.

"You've been out cold for almost a week now...it's been 6 days...." he said emotionless.

I looked at him wide eyed, "W-what...Gray...you haven't slept for 6 days?!" I came to reality.

"I've slept a bit but it was hard too...I haven't left the infirmary, heh when Porlyusica first came to see you they had to gaurd the door, I've been with you since..." he said smiling and looking at me. "I promised you...I wouldn't let you go again..."

That was it...my hand covered my mouth and with those words tears formed in my eyes and fell down my cheeks, rolling over the back of my hand and onto the blanket. "G-gray..." I could barely speak...he's been with me this whole time, he's always been beside me. It was strange...why was my heart pounding...just his pressense made my stomach twist and my heart pound, this has never happened before. Usually I'm used to Gray doing stupid stuff but the kind look in his eyes...his warm voice...it was just so comforting. Before I knew it he leaned for ward and had his hand cupped on my cheek and was wiping my tears away with his thumb, "Hey...don't cry," he smiled, "It's alright Dusk...it's over, everything, you've let your parents finally rest in peace together," the comfort and warmth in his voice, all I could do was cry more. I leaned forward and tightly embraced him. He smiled and wrapped his arms around me and caressed the back of my head, he just held me and my tears fell, I knew at that moment and that moment on, Gray would always be there for me. All I could do was mutter the words...

"Thank you Gray, for everything...thanks for being beside me through all my shitty moods and moments, even when I think no one's there for me and I'm falling into darkness, you'll always be there for me..."

HEADS UP: THERE WILL BE NO ORACION SEIES ARC FOR DUSK AND YOU WILL SEE WHY NEXT CHAPTER, IN PLACE OF THIS I WILL DO A FILLER WHERE IT SPEAKS ABOUT WHAT DUSK IS DOING DURING THIS TIME AND THEN WE WILL JUMP INTO EDOLAS
