The rotting creatures were closing in fast. We were mere minutes away from being torn to shreds. I didn't care if I died, I just wanted her to stay alive. I looked down at her, she was shaking like mad, tears were streaming down her face. She was clutching onto the ridges in the wall like it was her savior. I decided that if one of us were to die, it was gonna be me. I hoisted her up onto my shoulder, not caring it she tried to get back down by kicking me. I sat her up on the wall and turned to her one last time. I said one word that would seal my fate.
"Run." She looked at me with wide eyes, she wasn't going to budge so easily. I looked at her solemnly and pointed for her to leave. She slowly got to her feet and looked down at me.
"Thank you." I couldn't help but smile at those words. I nodded my head in return, she gave me a weak smile before she turned around to leave. I turned back to meet my fate. I started to wonder, what was it like being a flesh eating creature? Would I still feel emotions and pain, or was all my feeling being torn away with my human life. I guess I would find out soon enough.
