We must've been walking for hours, the feeling of fatigue was creeping into me. It felt as if there were weights on my shoulders. But the girl lightened everything. Even with her serious talk, and sometimes shushing my usual speech of me being hungry, she was still the nicest person I had  ever met. Her eyes lit up when I started to talk, she seemed genuinely interested in what I was saying. Either it be of my old life or of something I wish the future could've been like.
we walked a few more minutes, Rocket still tagging behind, before she held up her hand to stop me. Out of the corner of my eye I could see rocket walking up to join us. He sat down about three feet away from me. I looked back at the hand that was stopping me from going forward. "What's wrong? Do you see something?" I tried looking around to see anything that couldve caught her eye but I couldn't find anything.
She walked up a few steps, taking the hand off my chest. "Jackson? Can you see that?" She asked.
"See what?" I walked up to join her. I strained my neck to try to see what she was asking me about.
"That." She brought up her hand and pointed to what she was looking at. What I saw almost made me jump out of my skin.
