The figures were hard to see, considering that is was getting dark. The girl had pulled her gun out without me noticing, she was now pointing it at the figures. Her face was dimly lit by the light that was left. Her face was contorted with fear, her eyes wide. She knew she didn't have any bullets, she had used them up to save me. I suddenly felt as if everything was my fault, that somehow I had caused this.
I whipped out my pocket knife, desperate to protect her with my life. She noticed this but didn't protest because she wanted to protect me too. We could protect each other.
The figures started to walk closer, not seeming to care that she was pointing a gun at them. As they came into view I noticed something. The had guns, not a pistol type of gun but the heavy machinery type. So far I've seen one holding a shotgun, one holding a machine gun, and the other was holding a sawed-off shotgun. There were three figures coming closer, pointing their guns at us. Even at gun point I still felt calm, at least on the outside. On the inside I was freaking out. I could feel the worry and fear creeping into my mind. The person with the sawed-off shotgun was in the lead, I assumed that they were the leader.
They came just close enough that I still couldn't make out any major details. In a deep voice that boomed into my ears, the one with the sawed-off shotgun stated "Friend or foe?"
