The girl had looked back over the wall when she had heard the thump from him jumping down. She looked in awe at him. "Rocket! You're back!" She exclaimed. I looked at her with hopeful eyes and smiled. Rocket pulled away from my embrace and went to stand in front of me, shielding me from the vile creatures advancing towards us.
When the first of the wave came to close, Rocket swung his paw and took out almost half the crowd. I stared in amazement at what I had just witnessed. With my back pressed against the wall I could hear everything in front of me with ease. Every bone break, every skull shatter, and every low menacing growl Rocket emitted from his jowls.
He took another swipe at the crowd and knocked down the rest of the corpses. He turned his head back to me with a look of playfulness in his eyes. He thought all of this was a game, a whole big game of cat and mouse. He cocked his head to the side when I didn't reply. Then he turned his whole body towards me. Fear washed over me, something flickered in his eyes. He wasn't being playful anymore.
