I slowly went step-by-step down the staircase. Soon I started to see the real damage caused by the outbreak. Windows were broken, the glass scattered across the floor in waves. A door was torn completely off its hinges. But the worst part had to be the smell. It was a putrid foul smelling substance. I scrunched my nose in disgust, despising the foul stench as it filled my nostrils. Sending waves of disgust through my body. I wanted to puke but my body wouldn't let me. It was all too much to handle, the stench, the death, the rotting corpses coming to eat me. I couldn't take it all at once. But I had to push through, all I needed to do was go to the nearest market, get food, and come back safely. Hopefully not getting into a rumble with one of the creatures along the way. I was on the first floor now, slowly making my way to the back door to escape the horrid scene.
I made it to the back door without having a meet up with the creatures. I slowly creaked the door open a crack, sticking my head out to make sure the coast was clear. I opened the door just enough to slide my slender body out. That's when she plunked down in front of me. That's when she blocked my path to escape.
