I woke up in a daze, looking around the room wondering what happened. Then it all came rushing back in waves of despair and horror.
I sat up abruptly and darted my eyes around the room. Everything seemed quiet, except for my ears ringing into my head and my stomach growling. I couldn't remember the last time I had eaten, it seemed like decades ago. My mind started to wander away from reality until I snapped it back to the task on hand, food.
I looked at my mangled leg and realized that my food trip was going to be a lot harder than it already was.
I dragged myself to my bathroom to find something to patch up my leg. I found some gauze and used that to patch up my leg until it almost stopped bleeding. It felt a lot better to be able to walk around a bit and not get chunks of your flesh torn off by everything you pass. I walked over to the door and placed my hand on the knob and begun to turn it.
