"This is the best food here in this country that matches your filipino tounge."
I'm still embarrassed to look at him in the eyes kahit ilang minuto na ang nakalipas matapos kong manghiram sa kaniya ng pera para makabili ng pagkain. We are here in the dinning room.
"There aren't many restaurants here that serve rice meals as for the reason that english people don't usually eat rice. They love fish and chips, roast, pie, pasta and etc."
I just nod my head gently. Alam ko naman iyan. I normally go here to take a vacation whenever I have time before because Kuya Dylan lives here together with his wife and two children, Chlio and Sophie. I always love to spend time with them kaya palaging dito ang bakasyon ko.
That's why he doesn't need to tell me that because I know, but I wonder why would he explain that to me. Do I look like a clueless tourist?
"I am aware but still thanks." I said in a low voice, I am still shy!
I heard him chuckled. It's carbonara with garlic bread, mayroon din siyang in-order na fried chicken.
He's right. These food can satisfy my filipino tounge as it is very similar to the menu that Greenwich serves, which is a very popular food chain in the Philippines.
"I saw how you ate in the cafe versus in my housewarming party. There was a huge difference. In the cafe, when the creepe was given to you, you looked happy but not contented but at the party when you saw the rice, you looked the happiest and the most contented person I have ever seen. That's why I explained earlier."
I stopped moving and I froze in my position.
He smirked before taking the fork from my hand and placing it beside the two plates. I shake my head gently while sitting. I need to get back to my senses now!
"You look like an entirely different person. Does food cure your anger issues?"
I acted like I was going to throw him the water bottle and he just laughed then waved his hands, stopping me from doing it.
"I was just joking!" He laughed and I stick my tongue out to deliver him the message that I am still pissed.
I observe him as he put food in my plate, he was so gentle in placing the pasta in my little platter, his eyes were no laughing matter and so careful watching his large hand and the pasta, his pinkish lips are smiling a bit making me wonder what is he thinking right now.
Why are you smiling?
Mas maliwanag ang kaniyang mukha ngayon and it's not the Lucas I usually saw. Noon, when I met him in the plane, he was very serious. If there's a time that he would crack a joke or tease me, he would smile for a moment–laugh for a second but the bright colors will immediately left his eyes.
His face. I have seen this before but I don't remember.
"Eat now." He commands and I oblige, hindi na ako nakipagtalo pa kung bakit niya ako inuutusan, basta't tinukom ko na lamang ang bibig ko at kumain na.
