CHAPTER NINE

AS SOON AS the sun came up, Breana went to the Salvatore Boarding House. The events from the previous day kept her up all night, worrying about Vicki and Stefan, and most of all resenting Damon. She was thankful for him when he saved her from the drowning, but she couldn't help but be a little mad at him for being so careless and reckless.

Breana was relieved that Stefan finally told Elena about everything, despite the strain in their friendship recently, she knew that the Gilbert girl deserved to know what was happening. Also, Breana was more than happy to find out that Elena broke up with Stefan when she found out about his being a vampire, she felt bad because Stefan was sad about it, but she was slightly happy that she can finally have her chance.

The brunette took a deep breath and rang on the doorbell a few times when no one opened the door at the first few tries before Damon finally threw the door open. She was startled by the sudden opening of the door as she looked up at him, she sighed, "Hey, is Stefan here?"

"Yep." He said, popping out the p as he smirked teasingly.

She stood on her tippy toes and peeked over Damon's shoulder to look for Stefan, "Where is he?"

"And good morning to you, little miss I'm on a mission." Damon smirked.

"Damon." Breana said in a firm tone, trying to look intimidating as she pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes at him.

Damon's smirk widened—if that was even possible—at her cute expression of trying to intimidate him, "Are you actually stupid enough to try to intimidate a vampire that can kill you with just an easy snap of your neck?" He said as if it was such a casual thing to say.

Breana scowled at him, "If you wanted to kill me, you would have already."

"I would," Damon said, narrowing his eyes at her, "but not yet."

"You wouldn't kill me." Breana said determinedly.

Damon raised an eyebrow at her, looking at her in amusement, "And what makes you say that?"

"If you wanted me dead, you wouldn't have saved me from drowning."

Damon's smirk fell off his lips and the amusement on his face dropped when she said those words, "What?"

"Yes, Damon, I remember everything." Breana snapped, looking at him angrily, "From the very first time you compelled me until the last time when you compelled me to forget about dating you."

Damon scowled at her, "How the hell did you remember?" He said.

"I don't know." Breana muttered, "Again, Damon, where is Stefan?" She asked, not wanting to talk to him anymore and she's been standing on their porch for too long.

"He's upstairs singing the rain in Spain." He said sarcastically, "Knock yourself out." He muttered, walking pass her as he left the house.

Breana went inside after staring at his retreating figure, walking down the hall. She had enough talk with Damon, but she was still debating whether to go all ballistic on him or not. She shook it off, telling herself that it was not the right time.

"Stefan?" Breana called out, "Stefan?"

"Yes." Stefan said, walking over to her with a small smile on his lips.

"So, where is Vicki?" She asked, looking around for Matt's sister.

Stefan pointed up the ceiling, "She's upstairs."

"What happens now?" Breana asked, "Because Elena just told me that Jeremy is out there searching for Vicki with the rest of the town and that she will be coming over later for some questioning." She said, sighing as a frown formed on her face, "What do I tell them?"
