CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

STEFAN AND BREANA were currently at school, walking down the hall as they talked about the previous events.

"Damon hasn't said a word to me." Stefan said, "Every time I try to talk to him he shuts me down."

"Do you think he's still trying to find Katherine?" Breana asked curiously, hugging her book to her chest.

"I don't know." Stefan said, shaking his head, "He waited 145 years to find out that Katherine could not care less." He frowned and glanced at Breana, "I mean it's gotta hurt, right?"

Breana scrunched her nose, "It does and I feel really bad for him." She sighed, "I just want to ask him more about Jacob, but I don't think it's the right time."

"Well, he's Damon." Stefan muttered, "He'll get better soon." He said, "So, what are you going to do?"

Breana shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know. I guess just wait for Damon to be in his right mind so I can finally ask him about my biological father who was your vampire brother's best friend back in the '95." She sighed, "It'd be so nice if we could get through a day without having to deal with any of it." She muttered, pouting slightly, "No biological father and most definitely no vampire Isobel and brother."

"No vampires at all?" Stefan asked, raising his eyebrow teasingly.

Breana smiled sheepishly, "No vampires but you." She said, rolling her eyes, "I just want to get us back to normal stuff like school and homework and here's a thought: fun." She suggested, smiling up at him.

"Ooh," Stefan smiled in amusement, "That sounds good to me, when do we start?"

Caroline approached them and she greeted the pair with a grin on her face, she was already talking fast and neither Stefan nor Breana understood what she was saying.

Breana stopped the blonde from talking and grabbed her by the shoulders, giggling slightly, "Care," She said, "Breathe." Caroline started at her and took a deep breath, "Okay, now what you were saying?"

"Well," Caroline started, "I'm thinking nothing huge, just a dinner at the grill maybe a late movie, with me and Matt."

"You mean like a double date?" Stefan asked.

"Two pair out on a Friday night coupled." Caroline stated, looking at Stefan with a 'duh' face, "Yeah, a double date."

Breana chuckled, "Right, there's a problem with that." She said, "We're not dating."

"Then it can be like a group hang out then." Caroline said, "Please." She begged, "I wanted to ask Elena, but she and Stefan already broke up and I wanted to ask her since I really don't want it to be uncomfortable between us and Matt."

"Well, she could ask Tyler." Breana shrugged, "But for me and Stefan..." She pursed her lips and shook her head, "Nope."

"What? Oh, come on." Caroline whined, grabbing Breana's arm, "Please?"

Breana shook her head, "Sorry, Care."

Caroline sighed, "Fine." She muttered, "I'm gonna go ask Tyler to take Elena." She said, "See you both at class." Caroline turned around and walked away from the couple.

"So..." Stefan started.

"What?" Breana asked, looking at him.

Stefan shrugged, "Since you want normal and you don't want to hang out with Matt and Caroline, how about we hang out today then?"

Breana smiled, "That's fine with me." She said, "What time?"

"After school," Stefan said, "I'm taking you somewhere I know you'll like." He smirked.
