CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Breana went to the Salavatore's Boarding House first thing in the morning and went to the study where Damon was; reading through Emily's grimoire. Damon heard her come in but chose to ignore her. Stefan stood behind Breana and she turned her head towards him.

Stefan gave her an encouraging look, if there was anyone who could convince Damon to help find Elena, it would be Breana. Elena had been kidnapped the night before and they needed help to find the brunette doppelganger.

"Damon." Breana called, but he pretended not to hear her.

Stefan sighed, "Anna took Elena."

"Yeah, I got that from your 600 voicemails." Damon muttered sarcastically.

Stefan walked across the room towards Damon, "Damon, the moment I woke up, every single street in town, I've been searching." He said, frowning.

Damon continued reading Emily's grimoire, but not failing to respond to Stefan, "Well, then at least you know you'll see her again."

Breana followed Stefan and stood in front of Damon, "Please." She begged, sitting down on the couch, next to the raven haired vampire, "Do you know anything?" She asked, trying to catch his eyes, but they were locked on the grimoire he was holding, "You were with Anna; you must know where she's living." She said, "Just tell us where we can find her, Damon." She said, so close to pleading him and kneeling down.

Elena was her best friend and she would do anything to save her, she knew Elena would help find her if the roles were reversed.

Damon finally looked at Breana and Stefan, shaking his head, "Nope. You can go." He said, "Really."

"You know; all I can remember is hating you." Stefan began, shaking his head as well, "There might have been a time when that was different, but your choices have erased anything good about you." Stefan continued as Damon closed the grimoire and laid it down, giving Stefan his full attention, "But see, I also know you have just as much reason to hate me. This all began with me. Katherine got taken away from you and I'm sorry." Stefan said sincerely, looking into his brother's eyes.

"Apology accepted."

Stefan sighed, "So please, just tell me what you know."

"Huh." Damon muttered, as if he was thinking about it.

"It's Elena, Damon." Breana said, trying to see if the elder brunette had a soft spot in the elder Salvatore's heart, considering she looked like the woman he loves, "If you know something, please, tell us."

Damon stood up and Breana followed his movements, looking at Stefan, sharing the same anxious expressions. Damon looked at Breana straight in the eyes, "I mean this sincerely." He paused as Stefan nodded his head, anticipating his answer, "I hope Elena dies." He spat, walking past Stefan, leaving the room.

Breana's shoulders slumped in defeat, watching the raven haired vampire's back as he walked out of the study. It seemed like he could care less about the Petrova doppelganger.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Stefan's phone rang and he read the caller ID, immediately answer when he saw it was Elena. Breana looked at him in curiosity and he mouthed, "Elena." Causing the brunette to perk up in alarm.

"Elena?" Stefan asked in worry, "Are you okay?"

"She's fine." Anna answered causing Stefan to frown, "For now." She added, "Tell me you have the grimoire and she'll stay fine."

"Which means your brother has it." Anna said from the other line as Damon entered the room, leaning against the door frame and watching Stefan, "And I have the witch. So one of you had better meet me in the very public town square in 30 minutes so we can safely discuss how fun it's gonna be to work together." She said in amusement, hanging up the phone.
