CHAPTER FOURTEEN

BREANA WENT HOME with Jeremy after pouring her heart out to him for thirty minutes. He suggested that it would be better to talk at her house because Jenna was already on his back about his grades and the new girl he was friends with.

Breana was relieved when the living room was empty, she and Jeremy snuck into her room where they cuddled in peace, he ran his hand through her hair in comfort as he looked down at her in concern, "Are you alright now?"

"I will be." Breana said, closing her eyes as she thought about what she revealed to Jeremy. Her door was thrown open and the pair jumped in surprise as their heads turned towards the door to see Brendon walking in, "Oh for fuck's sake, Brendon." Breana cussed, "You scared the hell out of me."

Brendon sighed, closing the door behind him as he sat on the bed with them, "Is it true?"

"Obviously." Breana snorted, "I mean dad—or Caleb, was speechless that I knew about it. So, it's probably true." She said, "We're not siblings, just half..."

"God!" Brendon exclaimed, his face scrunching up, "What has our lives have become? I mean ever since you found out abou-"

Breana cut him off by discreetly nudging his stomach harshly and gesturing her eyes towards Jeremy, "Gosh, I know. Dad is such a freaking liar." She said exaggeratedly.

Brendon realized why he had to shut up and his mouth opened in 'O' as the realization hit him, "Right, um, do you guys want pizza? I'll order some."

"I want a plain cheese, please." Breana said, "A box only for me, understand?"

Jeremy rolled his eyes, "And you wonder why I call you piggy."

Breana gasped and punched his arm, "Shut up."

Brendon walked out of her bedroom and made his way downstairs to order some pizza. After calling the pizza, he stayed downstairs to wait for it while watching TV. After a few more moments, the doorbell rang and Brendon got up, opening the front door where the pizza delivery guy was at their porch.

"Hey. It's gonna be $22." The pizza guy said, gesturing at the three boxes.

Brendon nodded his head, "Breana, I need the money!" He called out and then looked at the man, "Uh, here." He opened the door wider, "Come in. Just put it on the table."

Brendon walked back into the dining room and the man crossed the threshold into the house, he placed the pizza on the table as Breana and Jeremy went downstairs.

Breana retrieved the money from her wallet, "Hi, um, keep the change." She said as she handed over the money.

The man took it and walked backwards towards the front door, "And you have yourself a good night." He said as he was out of the house.

Breana smiled tightly and closed the door after him, she turned to Brendon giving him an accusing look, "Did you invite him in?" Brendon nodded his head in response, "Have you forgotten about inviting strangers inside the house?"

Brendon winced when he realized what he did, sometimes he tends to forget that vampires exist, "Right."

Jeremy chuckled, "Lay off him, Bree. He's not a kid."

"I know." Breana muttered, giving Brendon a look. She walked over to the table where the pizza was laying, "Let's eat."

"So, how will you tell Ben?" Brendon asked.

Breana shrugged, "I will open my mouth and use my voice to tell him."

Jeremy laughed and Brendon rolled his eyes, "When will you tell him then, you sarcastic wench."
