CHAPTER FIVE

AS THE NEW couple settled in the Gilbert's living room, Breana grinned at Stefan happily when he told her the news, "I can't believe you actually listened to me and went for the tryouts!" She giggled, "Much better is that you got in! Good for you, go for it."

Stefan smiled at her softly as Elena looked at him in confusion. She thought he went to try out for the football team because she urged him too, but it obviously was because of Breana.

Damon was cozy as he cuddled with Breana, his arm around her shoulder, "That's what I always tell him. You have to engage. You can't just sit there and wait for life to come to you. You have to go get it." He said, smirking, looking at Stefan showing him that there was a different meaning behind his words.

"So, how did you two meet?" Bonnie asked, glancing at Damon cautiously, there was something about this guy that gives her bad vibes, like Stefan did, but darker.

"Oh, when I went to Stefan's house like three days ago. Damon was there, he kept me company while I waited for Stefan." Breana shrugged her shoulders.

Damon smiled down at her, "Yeah, the best day of my life." He looked up at Stefan and smirked.

Breana grinned at him, "Aw, you're so sweet." She gushed.

The two other girls were looking at Breana weirdly, she really was acting different, she has never acted like that before with her past relationship and she was always shy about it.

Stefan glared at his brother—he wasn't gonna lie, he's jealous of them, this is actually his first time seeing Breana smile that brightly and he can't help but regret kissing Elena last night—that could've been him and Breana right now.

As for Damon, well, he knew what he was doing, he knew Stefan has feelings for Breana and he stole her away when Stefan chose the wrong girl—but other than wanting to make him suffer by seeing the girl he likes in his brother's arms, well, Damon wants Breana.

Elena and Bonnie went to the kitchen to clean up the dishes, Breana decided to stay, not wanting to pull away from Damon's warm embrace. The older Salvatore made her heart race, like Stefan did and he still does, but there was something about Damon that she couldn't pinpoint and she was starting to like it a lot.

"So," Breana started, "how was the tryout?"

"It was good, but I don't think Matt or Tyler really liked the fact that I got in." Stefan said, shrugging.

"Matt tries, but he's just having a really hard time." Breana reassured, "You have to understand that they were each other's first." She shrugged, referring to Matt and Elena, "You know, like, from the sandbox."

Stefan nodded his head understandingly, glancing at her neck, he was surprised to see that there were no bites, but then again, Damon could've fed her his blood so it wouldn't leave a mark.

"Hey, uh, why don't you go and help Bonnie and Elena with the dishes?" Damon suggested, rubbing her arm gently.

Breana smiled at him as she stood up, leaving his arms, making him feel cold, "I was already planning to." She bent down and kissed his cheek, walking towards the kitchen to help her friends.

"What are you doing Damon?" Stefan asked as soon as he was sure Breana was out of hearing distance.

Damon smirked, sitting back, "Going after the girl I want, something you can't do."

"Well, you've had your fun, so why don't you go and—uh, leave her alone."

"Oh, don't worry Stefan." Damon teased, "We haven't kissed yet."
