CHAPTER EIGHT
BREANA WOKE UP, the excruciating pain her head was receiving earlier finally disappeared, but there was still a stinging pain every now and then. She let out a small groan as she slowly sat up, her hand holding her head just in case it aches again.
She was silent for a while, a little confused as to where she was, then suddenly she gasped when she remembered what she had discovered when she passed out, she quickly stood up, looking around to see Stefan sitting on the opposite couch she was laying on earlier.
Breana looked at him accusingly, "Tell me the truth, what are you?" She demanded immediately as her heart began beating fast in nervousness.
"You know." Stefan stated, standing up as he looked at her blankly.
Breana shook her head, in denial, "No, no." She said, "I don't."
"You know." Stefan repeated, "You said the word earlier, and you wouldn't be here if you didn't."
The brunette girl's lips parted in silence, she took a deep breath, "I wanna hear you say it yourself." She whispered, "Tell me."
Stefan gave her a grim look, "I'm a vampire."
Breana let out a shaky breathe and shook her head frantically, "No." She said, pacing in front of Stefan, "No, that can't be possible. It can't be." She muttered to herself, "People die and they stay dead."
"Everything you know..." Stefan started, watching her reaction, "And every belief that you have is about to change. Are you ready for that?"
Breana's bottom lip quivered—the now spilled secrets overwhelming her, feeling a huge weight on her shoulders. "No, I—I shouldn't have come here." She said, regretting everything she did. Her curiosity—damn, if she just left it alone.
Breana tried to turn around to leave the house, not being able to sink in the new revealing, Stefan stopped her, grabbing her arm gently, "No, please, listen to me." He pleaded.
Breana yanked her arm from his grasp and ran out of the living room only for him to speed right in front of her, she yelped in surprise, backing up from him as her eyes widened, feeling her heart punching its way out of her chest, "W—What the- How did you do that?"
"Please," Stefan begged, frowning, "don't be afraid of me." He said, grabbing her arms, trying to catch her eyes.
"S—Stef..." Breana whimpered, finally looking up at Stefan's eyes in confusion, his touch was making her tenser, "How was he able to do that?"
"Who?" Stefan asked, frowning, "Do what?"
"Damon." Breana answered, "How did he make me forget, I—I mean, I know all about the compulsion, but...how am I able to remember these things?"
Stefan continued to frown at her, "What do you mean you remember?"
"I—I remember Damon compelling me to forget about that night with you and Vicki, and the dating part also." Breana admitted, making sure to leave out the part where the icy blue eyed vampire saved her.
Stefan's lips parted in confusion, "I don't know how you remember, but..." He scrunched his eyebrows in puzzlement, "I'll try to find out, for the meantime will you please stay and listen to me?" He said, his hands still holding both of her arms.
Breana reluctantly nodded her head as Stefan let go of her and lead her to the living room again, they sat on the sofa in silence, letting the brunette calm down from what she just discovered. After a minute, Breana got impatient and so she broke the silence, "Those...those animal attacks..." She started, looking at Stefan, not being able to continue her question.
