Joseph's POV

"So, what did you want to know?" I asked, crossing my arms. "Look, I know we haven't seen eye to eye and we've never really talked much, but I wanna change that. I wanna start over. I want us to be a family again. I want to be a true father. Your father. Cause I care for you. I really do. Always have and I always will," he said. I stood there silently. Trying to figure out what words to use. "Come on son. Say something to me. You can tell me what's on your mind. You trust me. Just lay it on me," he said. I didn't know what to say. I mean he made both me and my mother's life rough. He barely called us. And worse of all, he's never visited mom's grave. How can I forgive him?! But........ then again, he looks and acts completely different than how he was many years ago. Has he really changed? Should I even trust a word he's saying? I mean, it could all be a trick. *sigh* Why does life have to be so complicated. I sighed. "Look I-" was what I said before my watch went off. I look at my watch as it beeped and I looked at him. "I've gotta go," I said standing up. "Wait Joe," he said before sighing, "I'm sorry for all the pain I gave you and your mother. But I just want you to remember that I love you and I'm proud of the man that you've become," he said giving a warm smile. I turned and left. But before I did, I told him 'I love you too' in a low voice but enough for him to hear. He smiled.

"Scales, Lights Out!" I said as run towards trouble. I manage to get there and see two figures decked out in armor. One male and one female. The woman had her hair in a ponytail and wore some kind of body armor with a strap on the side holding what looked like a crossbow and behind it seemed to hold a quiver. She's got a tight vest on, along with a mask that covered her mouth, while the guy seemed to have a kevlar mask, a semi- automatic rifle in his right hand and a wristed blade in his left, along with a sweet looking gray jacket with a familiar symbol.

"There you are. I was wondering what I had to do to get some attention around here," she said. "Who the hell are you people?" I said crossing my arms. "Names Huntress, the one beside me is Bullseye, and I'm guessing you're the Hooded Phantom people keep talking about," she said pointing at me. I smirk under my mask. "Good to see word comes out quickly. So what do you want?" I asked. She looks at me seriously. "We came here for you," she said, pulling the crossbow out and aiming it at me. "Sorry, I don't do autographs," I said. "Our client wants you dead. And he'll pay GOOD money for your head," said the man next to her. "Um, I'd like to keep my head, thank you very much," I said shooting a web at her. As soon I did that, she shot her arrow, which sliced the web and started heading towards me. My eyes widen. "Shit," I said to myself as I dodge the arrow. I side flipped and started shooting more webs at them. Huntress dodged the webs and shot two arrows at me, while Bullseye shot a few times before his semi- automatic rifle got jammed by my web. He cursed under his breath and activated his wrist blade.

He goes after me and starts swinging his blade at me back and forth a few times. I quickly dodged his slashes but barely missed the arrows coming at me. "I can't deal with two people at once. I've gotta think of something," I thought. I quickly webbed his legs and threw a few punches, managing to make him lose his balance. Now for the other one. That's when I heard Scales speaking to me. Well, telepathically. "Listen to me, you need to say Phantom Firarms," said Scales. "What will that do?" I asked him. "Just trust me," he said. "Alright here goes nothing," I said, just as Huntress got ready to fire. "Phantom Firearms!" I said just as a light started taking form in my hand. Just as her arrow comes within a few feet from me, the loud sound of a BANG could be heard, along with a yellow bullet shaped blast of energy started taking form, going through the arrow, breaking it in half, and hitting Huntress' s hand, making her drop her crossbow. She held her hand for a moment as snarled at me. Just then I looked at my hand. It was a handgun.

I then noticed a belt with a few pouches forming on my suit. "Sweet! I didn't know I could that!" I said. "Damn you-," she said before I shot web fluid against her hands, covering them, along with webbing her legs. "Now what to do with you," I said. Just then, Bullseye managed to cut through my webbing and threw a smoke bomb, which ignited, leaving a large cloud of smoke surround me. I couldn't see anything. And just as the smoke cleared, they were both gone. I sighed, as I put my pistol away, and cursed under my breath.

Later

"I'm sorry sir, but we couldn't capture his head," Huntress spoke, bending one knee towards the masked figure. "You've failed me. And you call yourselves professionals," the figure said. "But sir, I can assure you that-," was all Huntress could say before a loud BANG echoed around the room. Next thing they knew, her body was on the floor, covered in a puddle of her blood. "So disappointing," the figure said. Bullseye was in shock at what he saw. "You," said the figure. He jumped. "Don't disappoint me. Or else you'll end up like your partner," the figure said, grabbing a hold on the crossbow Huntress once had.
