[Spin-off from Lover's Lane]
Joseph, after the disband of the Wild Fury Rangers, was starting to have a normal life. Well, as normal as it can be with having powers given to you from an explosion. That was until a...
I began to tie my shoes as I looked around. "Damn," I said, "We're pretty high up," I continued I stood up and walked close to the ledge of the rooftop I was on. I could see lots of other rooftops I could land on. "Hey, you're the one who said that you wanted to train," said Scales, levitating right next to me. "Yeah, but what's this suppose to teach me?" I asked, stretching my legs. "This is suppose to help increase your agility and your kinestetic sense. After all, you can't always count on your powers all the time," said Scales, making a point. "Yeah, but can't we just do that in-," was all I was able to say before my kwami shushed me, interrupting me. "Geez, you ask too many questions. Just trust me on this," Scales said. I sighed in defeat. "Alright," I finally said. Scales smirked. "Good. Now then. Let's start," Scales said. I nodded. I got myself in a ready position. Scales quickly entered my red jacket's pocket and gave me the signal to go. And I gladly did.
I could feel the wind hit my face as I ran, leaping from rooftop to rooftop, still not losing my breath. I looked around as I jumped on top of a ventilation system, went into a frontflip, landing on a crouching positions and continued running. I jump off a rooftop and land on another, scaring a bunch of pigeons, causing them to fly right in front of me. I smile as I see a small shack like room with a door. I run towards it and get on top of it. After that I did a midair sideflip, landing it smoothly. I could feel free as I ran. No wonder Eric loves it. I wouldn't blame him.
I continued to run until I saw something. I stopped at the ledge of the rooftop. Scales came out of my pocket. "Hey why did we stop?" He asked as he looked at what I was looking. His eyes widen, knowing what I was thinking. "Oh no," he said, as I took a few steps back, getting ready. "Joseph. I swear to god you better not be doing what I think you doing," said Scales. I looked at him, then smirked, as I began to run as fast as I could. "No, no, no, no, no, no!!" Said Scales, putting his head back down. I continued to run, putting my foot on the ledge of the roof, then propelled myself forward, leaping towards another rooftop that was farther off. I still kept my smile as Scales took a slight peek at what was happening. His eyes widened. We were falling. "We're not gonna make it!!" He stated, holding on tightly. I smirk as my right hand began to light up again. And as that happened a dark red portal formed in front of me. Without even thinking, I entered it. And as we came out I pulled off a barrel roll and and landed on one knee. My expression was in awe as I looked back, noticing the portal disappearing. That was new. I thought as I began to breathe heavily. I quickly snapped out of it as I picked up Scales, who was tightly grabbing onto my finger. He looked traumatized, with him shaking and all. "Remind me.......to never, ever trust you in taking me anywhere," he said. I burst out laughing as I lay on the floor, still laughing. Sorry about that-," was all I said before we both heard a large explosion within a few miles from here. Both of us quickly looked up in an instant. I frown as I stand up, noticing a large smoke in the distance. I look at Scales as we both nod. Scales, Lights out!!
I land onto the nearest rooftop, getting a better view to what I'm going up against. I see shops completely destroyed, with flames rising in height and growing wildly. And the screams of people below trying to escape the madness isn't making things any better. I activate my communicator, trying to get contact with the team. "Hey, can anyone hear me?!" I said, raising my voice due to the car alarms and people screaming.
"We hear you. Loud and clear," said Daniel.
"Alright, I'm gonna need a few extra hands to get these civilians out of harms way," I said as I jump into action, grabbing a few people and putting them away from the fire.
"I'll send Eric and Daniel to where you are. I'llalso try to call the police and the fire departments. Though I'm pretty sure they'll be there any second," said Davila.
"Alright, let's do this," I finally said as I led people to an opening.
After getting a few civilians out of there, I quickly noticed a building crumbling. I could faintly hear people screaming from with the building. My eyes widened. Shit! I won't be able to save themin time! I thought to myself. But that all changed until I felt a sudden breeze. I could faintly see a blurry, streak of lightning go towards the collapsing building. I sighed in relief as I smirk. "Thank god," I said to myself as I also noticed Daniel leading people out to a safe area. One by one I saw Eric take everyone out of the building into a much safer spot. That's when he came over to me and said, "Did someone call for back up," He said, with smirk on his face. "Dude, you are a life saver," I said, fist- bumping him. "You know it," he said. After that it seemed like everything was gonna be okay. But that's when I heard it. That distinctive sound that drove shivers up my spine. I turned towards the flames and saw something that quite frankly, I was not ready for. It roared at our direction and as it got close, the more visible it was. It looked well over 7 meters tall and it looked quite terrifying.

"An Akuma," I said as I frowned. Eric looked at it as he took a step back. "Jesus. Looks like someone hit the gym," Eric said letting out a nervous chuckle. I looked at it, trying to find where his Akuma could be. "Any idea on how to stop it?" Asked Eric, getting into his fighting stance. "No. Not yet. However, this one seems to be far stronger than the last one I fought," I said with a serious expression on my face. "Yeah, not the answer I was expecting," Eric said. I raised my hands as I formed my pistols. "Nevertheless, we need to stop it," I said, "and I'm gonna need you for this," I continued. Eric looked at me then looked back at the Akuma. "Yeah, I had a feeling," Eric said before running at the Akuma. He began to run around it, creating a wind current that took care of the fire surrounding it, giving as an even better look at it. The Akuma swung it's arms around, trying to grab onto Eric. However, with his speed he was almost untouchable. He was creating a distraction for me. As it focused on Eric, I began to aim my pistols and started to shoot. Knowing that this Akuma would be harder to face, each bullet-shaped energy I shot would have a blast and a damage threshold that would likely not only kill a normal man, but it would dismember an entire body part if given the chance. However, it's skin must be strong as hell, because the Akuma just took it like it was nothing. I kept shooting each shot, hoping that I hit a pressure point of some sort, but to no avail.
Eric kept on hit the damn thing but no matter what he did, none of us could make a dent on the armored-like skin the Akuma had. The Akuma roared as it grabbed Eric, covering his entire upper body. "FLASH!!" I yelled as I ran towards the Akuma, forming dark matter around my fists. Suddenly a string like weapon grabbed onto the Akumas lower arm. At first I thought it was a type of chained weapon, but when I took a better look I noticed that it was, a yo- yo? Suddenly a figure gracefully landed a few feet away from the Akuma. And lone and behold it was the Miraculous Ladybug. And with a pull from her, she managed to slightly crack the skin from the arm, causing the Akuma to drop Eric. And as he dropped, Eric quickly ran towards me holding onto his shoulder. "Friend of yours?" He asked. "You could say that," I said. She pulls her yo-yo back as she backflips towards us. "Less chitchat, more finding a way on how to stop this Akuma," said Ladybug, as she got into a fighting stance. "It has to have some kind of object on his body that has the Akuma contained inside, we just need to look for it," I stated. Both Eric and Ladybug nod. "Alright," Eric said as he relocates his shoulder. "Let's do this," he said, as he gets in a running position. I looked at the Akuma. "Come and get it ugly," I said as Eric ran towards it again, only this time he threw his punches with the electricity he creates as he runs, and Ladybug began throw her yo- yo and aiming it at some pressure points. I run at the Akuma as I went into my Beserk stage. I slammed my fists against the Akuma's skin. I honestly thought we had a chance to stop the Akuma, but boy was I wrong.
