[Spin-off from Lover's Lane]
Joseph, after the disband of the Wild Fury Rangers, was starting to have a normal life. Well, as normal as it can be with having powers given to you from an explosion. That was until a...
I could feel my powers depleting. I could feel my body hit the floor, landing on the hard concrete. I was covered in wounds and my suit almost ripped to shreds. I could see Eric just getting thrown like a rag doll onto some rubble. "Eric.......," I tried to say before coughing out blood. Ladybug was just on the floor, with the Akuma's foot on top of her chest. She was still conscious and tried to get its leg off of her, but with her being weak after all the fighting, it wouldn't budge. The Akuma roared as it began to put more and more pressure. I could hear her gasping for air. I frowned as what little adrenaline I still had began to rush through my veins. I slowly got up and began to run at it. I ran at the Akuma in desperation, attacking it with everything I had. But it wasn't enough.
It took it like it was nothin, leaving me tired and defeated. The Akuma grabbed me by the leg as he just bashed me against the floor. It hurt like hell and I almost felt lifeless. I was losing conciousness. All I could see was Eric reaching his hand towards me in a weak way and a glimpse of electricity before everything went dark.
"Damn kid. You got massacred out there."
That voice, I thought before I turned to see Zenith standing there, in his human form, looking at me with a cigarette in his mouth. We stared at each other before Zenith snapped his fingers as a comfortable looking chair appeared right behind me. He kindly gestured me to sit down and after a long pause, I did. He created a chair for himself and sat on it with one leg on top of the other and make a patient gesture. "You and your team could handle it, huh?" He said reminding me of what I said the last time we met. I looked down. "Now if my memory is correct, those are the words that you said the last time we met," he said, pulling the cigarette out of his mouth. He's right. I did say that. And Icouldn't even prove it.........., I thought. The room went silent.
Zenith took a puff of his cigarette. "You're team is hurt. They need your guidance. You're their leader right now. It may look like you failed them, but you haven't just yet. You know why?" He asked me. I slowly faced him and nodded no. He smirked. "It's because you haven't given up just yet. You have the power to overcome any obstacle, whether it's fear and loss or sadness and despair. You have the heart and mind set of a leader, you just have to find it inside you," he stated as he looked at me. I frowned as I looked down. "Now as a leader, you have to make tough choices. The question is, what are you gonna?" He asked. We stayed sitting there in silence. I looked at my right hand for a moment. I know what I have to do, I thought to myself. Zenith was about to put his cigarette in his mouth before I confidently asked, "Is the deal still on the table?"
He looked at me with a smirk. "Are you sure you want to do this. There's no turning back once you do this," he said. "I'm positive. It may be a sin, but if I want to protect the people I care about and stop Shaokan once and for all, then I'll do it," I said. "If that's what you want," he said as he snapped his fingers, causing a table to appear between us with a contract in the middle. He slid the contract towards me and grabbed onto his cigarette which he formed into a pen. He looked at me as he extended the pen towards me. As I reached for it, he suddenly he pulled away. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "Are you sure you want to do this? This is your last chance to go back." He said. "Look, I don't care if I'm going to hell after this, I'm doing this. After all you said it yourself. A leader has to make tough choices. Well, I've made up my mind," I said. He smirked. "You've got determination, I'll give you that. And I respect that. Here you go kid," he said as he gave me the pen. I looked at the contract and wrote my signature. There's no going back now, I thought. And just like that, both the furniture and the contract disappeared and all that was left was him and I. "Well then. Now that that's settled. How about we shake on it," he said as he gestured his hand. I looked at it for a moment. "Why?" I asked, curiously. "In order to properly begin our contract, you have to shake my hand. So let's shake on it, partner," he said as flames started forming from his hand. My right hand began to glow as I looked at his flaming hand. "Alright, partner," I said as I shaked his hand. The flames grew larger as they changed colored to a light blue color.

And just like that, I opened my eyes to see everyone's eyes widened. I get on a sitting position before I noticed that Eric and Ladybug looked like they've gone through hell. Well we all did, but I didn't feel like it. I felt healthy. "Joseph......Your wounds........ they're gone," said Ladybug. I looked at myself and slightly chuckled. "Looks like it," I said. "But how's that possible, you were cover with wounds," said Eric. "What do you do?" Asked Daniel with a serious expression. I looked at my right hand and made a fist. I then looked at everyone and with a serious expression I said......
