Later. . .

He shows me a picture of a newspaper that came out a few days before my disappearance. "So you're saying that I was gone for a whole month?" I said, trying to process what they were saying. "Yeah, pretty much," said Daniel. "That reminds me, here's your watch," Daniel continued, as he tossed me my watch back.

"Oh there you are. I was trying to look everywhere for it," I said as I strapped it back on my wrist. That's when Scales came out and greeted me again. "Joseph! Oh it's great to see you again," said Scales hugging my cheek. I smiled back. "It's great to see you too buddy," I said. "Scales was really worried about you. That's partnership for you," said Daniel. "In fact, I think both Scales and Anna were more worried about you. I mean, sure we were worried, but most of us knew that you could handle yourself," stated Erik. I smiled a bit. "Speaking of which, where's Anna?" I asked curiously. Everyone except me looked at each other. "Yeah about that, she had a little erron to run," said Erik. I raised an eyebrow. "Ok?" was all I said before I heard Daniel clearing his throat. "You've got some explaining to do," said Daniel. I turned towards him as I sighed.

"So let me get this straight, you were kidnapped by a cult called the Band of the Eye, used you as a sacrifice to summon their 'Savior', who they think of as a god, that managed to kill them before almost killing you and then escaped right before you got this burned in tattoo in your hand," said Daniel, pointing at my right hand. "Pretty much," I said, while sitting on one of beds as Davila took a sample of my block and a physical test. "Well, I can't believe I'm saying this, but it makes sense," continued Daniel, with his arms crossed.

"That's strange," said Davila taking a look at the blood sample on the microscope. As Davila looked at the blood cells, he could see a few additional cells that were darker in color and seemed to bond with the blood cells themselves. "I'm seeing something that shouldn't be in your blood stream," said Davila as he started typing on the huge monitor, which quickly showed a closer look at what he meant. We all looked at it. "What the hell is that?" I asked in confusion. "I can't say. Could be a virus or some sort of bacteria. Whatever it is, it's not very familiar to me," said Davila. Erik turned towards Daniel. "Daniel, do you have the slightest clue on what that is?" Asked Erik. "I'm just as troubled as you are," answered Daniel. I took a step forward. "So you're saying, that that thing is inside my blood stream?" I asked. "I'm afraid so. I'm gonna have to take more test. So I'll need you to come back for a few days to understand whatever the hell that thing is and what it does," said Davila. I nodded.

I finally got in front of my Aunt's house. I stood there, looking at the front door. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. It took a few minutes until the door opened. It was my aunt. Her eyes widen. Her eyes began shedding tears and began covering her mouth in disbelief. "J- Joseph," she said in, you guessed it, disbelief. "H- Hey Titi," I said, awkwardly. She quickly hugged me, giving me the tightest hug I've ever had in a long time. "You're ok!!" She said. I hugged back. "Yeah Titi. And this time, I'm staying," I said, hugging back.
