Joseph's POV

We finally got to the new bowling alley, and it was huge! They had a large portion to be just for bowling while the rest of the portions are for the Arcade, a 1900s like fast food bar, and what seemed to be a laser tag area. I awed in amaze. "I think I just found my favorite spot, other than the Teen Center and Starbucks," I said. "Glad you like it, cause I know the guy who owns this place," said Daniel with a proud look on his face. "Really?" Said Anna. "Hell yeah, his name is Nick. Guess he's a basketball fan. Get it cause Brooklyn is-," he said as he look at us.

I understood the joke, but wasn't funny. Everyone was silent. "Oh come on, give me a little credit, will ya," he said. "Um, just let me do the jokes from now on," I said. "Hmph...... I thought it was funny," he said with a pouty face -3-. "Well, how about we find us some seats while you guys pay," Said Annaliz. "Alright. Come on Daniel," I said heading towards the person at the counter. "Hey Daniel. How's it doing," said Nick, the owner of this place. "What's up Nick. I'm doing great. Anyways, I'd like a game for four," Daniel continued. "You got it. It'll be $24.00," he said. Daniel, with a smile, took out his wallet and opened it. I took a quick glace and saw what I thought to be a thousand dollars or something like that. That's when I remembered that his family was rich. He took out a $40, gave it to Nick, and told him to keep the change. "Alright, wait here. Let me get you your shoes," said Nick as he left to the next room.

So there we were, waiting. We only heard the bowling pins being hit. That was until I heard Daniel ask me something. "Say Joseph, I was wondering........," he said. "Hm?" I said. "I've been curious. You've never talked about your parents. Why is that," he said giving me a weird look. I looked at him, then turned towards the girls, and sighed.

"I don't enjoy having to open up old wounds. But seeing as you don't know anything about what happened I might as well tell you. Both of my parents were different from each other. My mother was taught in a private school, got her degree from an early age, had an IQ that was higher than those of others, and worked both as a doctor and as a scientist for a company that was specialized in both helping humanity to stop diseases and help communities get the best treatment possible by creating antibiotics, cloning foods, and other materials that would be essential for life.

My father on the other hand was different. He lived in a rough neighborhood and went to a public school that wasn't the best, however he did not finish school as he dropped out and started working at a few different places such construction and security. Now how did two completely different people find each other and fall in love, I'll never know. But all I do know is that one day, they met, they dated, and within a few months maybe within a year they had him. It was great and all until my mother quit her job from out of nowhere. We didn't know why she did it. I mean, she got payed well, so we didn't see what the problem was. But by the looks of it, she probably didn't like something they were doing from behind the scenes. So they both tried to look for good jobs. And my father had the bright idea of trying to enter the army. My father tried to inlist himself in many separate occasions. But due to his lack of experience, cooperation, and insufficient knowledge of things, he was dismissed each and every time. This caused him to just not care anymore. He started to waste all the money on booze, lottery tickets and other, selfish needs. And every time he'd get drunk or just stupidly angry he'd make our lives miserable. It took her 3 years to be down with, leaving him behind to start over, bringing me with her.

Then they got divorced After that, both my mother and I would live together with my aunt. And with open arms, she'd let us in. I lived most of my life without having the love and care of a father. I'd never understand it. I mean, how could I, when everyone else had something given to them to cherish by their fathers, whether it was love or gifts, when I hadn't been give jack. I never truly felt a father's love. That was until I met Jose.
