Chapter 3
*Nathan's Point of View
It was close to the end of the day as I slid through the hallway, trying not to bump into anyone, which was a hard task. This school was small but there were a lot of students for a small town. Most of the students stood at their lockers, causing a traffic jam. They didn't care, they just wanted to finish their conversations. As for Athena, she walked around as if she owned the place. No one stood in front of her, most people moved out of her way. She kept her head held high, earbuds in her ears on full blast. She didn't care.
I wanted to talk to her again, but what would I talk to her about? Weed? School? I have no experience with girls.
Athena was so beautiful despite not knowing her well. My curiosity is getting the best of me, of why she doesn't talk. Maybe family issues? Right as I finished that thought, a tall senior went up to her and pulled her hair. She looked up at him and swatted at him.
The boy laughed very loudly, his laugh was almost identical to Athena's. They continued walking. She didn't say anything, of course. The boy continued to do things that bothered her, but she didn't seem as irritated as I would expect. She actually laughed and tried to do the same thing to the boy. 2 other boys came up to them and began talking. All of them had light eyes and looked very much like each other. One boy was a boy version of Athena except for the eyes, she was unique that way.
My new friend, Kyle, bumped my arm causing me to look away from Athena and her group. "Why are you looking at the Adams? Interested in one of them?" He asked, giving me a slight wink.
"Adams? They are all family?" I ignored his question.
"I will answer your question if you answer mine," he said stubbornly before slamming his locker closed.
"Yes, I do, but I don't know her. She doesn't talk."
"Oh, so you want Athena? She's a hard catch. And yes, they are all family. I am very close family friends with them-"Kyle started to say but I quickly cut him off.
"Have you spoken to Athena? Like ever?" I asked.
"Of course I have, I have known the family since I was a little kid. It's been a while since I have spoken to her. She is a very down-to- earth kind of person. As I was saying, the biggest one is a senior, Viktor. The other one who is a bit shorter than Viktor is a junior, Ivan. The sophomore who is identical to Athena is her twin, Roman. Finally, the youngest is Christov." He explained as they walked past us, he began to whisper. I nodded at his explanation. Hopefully, my brother will know one of them.
"Thanks, Kyle," I said and walked towards my brother's group. "Grayson, can I talk to you for a second?"
"Anything you want to say you can say in front of my friends, Nathan. They won't say shit." He answered me, looking around his group. "I trust them."
"I just wanted to know if Athena-" I started but was cut off by Grayson's friend, Jason.
"Are you talking about Athena Adams? What do you want to know about her? That girl is off limits and everyone knows it." Jason commented. Grayson smacked him from the back of his head and gave him a look. Jason rubbed the back of his head and gave my brother a death glare. "Sorry kid, what do you want to know about her?"
"I was just wondering if she was single, nothing else," I replied. All of the guys gave each other looks except for Grayson, he was out of the loop. "What?"
