Chapter 6

*Nathan's Point of View*

I nudged Athena while we sat at the lunch table. It was Friday, a week before the concert and didn't know what everyone was doing. The teachers haven't started piling homework on the students yet which left our weekends wide open.

"Anyone having a party this weekend?" I asked.

"I don't know. I'm busy either way," she typed.

"I don't think being at the library is considered busy," I laughed softly. She shook her head, making me give her a questionable look. As always, Athena hung out in the library every day if she had nothing to do. Except on Sundays since the library would be closed. "Then what are you doing?"

           "Someone likes to be nosy."

"You can't blame me for being curious. So, I guess you are just going to leave it at that?"

           "Of course, sunshine."

*Athena's Point of View*

I smiled as Jason came out of the dressing room in the pink dress that I picked out for him. He gave me an irritated look, "aren't you so pretty!" I laughed. He looked very odd with the dress, his muscular body did not fit the dress well but it was fun to look at. I was wearing a tight red dress for the heck of it, not wanting my friend to do it alone. Jason and I were looking for something for me to wear to the concert next week. We saw this store and decided to try on dresses for fun. And yes, he is straight.

He was not too fond of Nathan going and not him. Jason has been my best friend since we were little kids, he was friends with me before he was friends with my brothers.

"Can I take this off now?" He begged with his puppy eyes. I shook my head, standing up from my seat. As I stood up, Jason's hazel eyes trailed my body, full of wonder and lust. I looked down, embarrassed from the attention. "Hey, don't be insecure. You look gorgeous in that dress." I nodded, mumbled a small 'thank you' and took his hand. We began dancing in the middle of the dressing room. He let out a deep chuckle as he twirled in his dress. Jason slowed his movements so we were slow dancing. "What's your deal with the new kid?" He asked.

I gave him a weird look, "nothing. Why?"

"Do you like him?" Jason stared down at me, waiting for an answer as if his life depended on it.

"No, he's only a friend going to a concert with me. Nothing more, nothing less." I didn't know how I truly felt about Nathan. He was sweet but I didn't know him at all.

"You know, I could have gone with you. At least you can talk to me. Wouldn't it be awkward between the two of you, standing around and not talking-" He began to rant but I cut him off, not wanting to hear the rest of his speech.

"Jason, you don't like that band. I wouldn't want you to go if you wouldn't enjoy it like I would. Nathan loves the band so that's why he's going and not you. And I kind of talk to him." I answered. Jason stopped dancing and looked into my mismatched eyes.

"Athena, that kid is head over heels in love with you. Have you not noticed? He would rather be hanging around you than with the guys. I'm only telling you this to protect you." He said and pulled me into a tight hug.

"It's because I'm so amazing," I said, trying to change the subject. Jason gave me a hard looking. He knew I was stalling. "I don't want another relationship. Mason was a complete disaster, I'm not ready for another guy like that. Plus, I cannot get close to anyone, you know why." I explained. My best friend bent down a bit to give me a slight kiss on my forehead.
