Chapter 7

*Athena's Point of View*

Today was the day that Jason and I were going to the concert. I was beyond excited, but I'm not sure if he was. I kept thinking about stupid scenarios with the band members that probably wouldn't happen. Those thoughts kept me in a good.

I have avoided Nathan since he blew up on me at my house. I completely disappeared from his view at school. It was clear that he tried to find and talk to me, my brothers told me multiple times. I never told them what happened because they were best friends with Nathan's brother. I didn't want to ruin that. If he was at the house, I would stay in my locked room until they left. Viktor was getting worried because Nathan would be glaring at Jason the whole time they hung out, I gave him some lame excuse.

Jason was in a pissy mood because I had him take us to the concert very early so we could be the first ones inside. The stadium didn't give specific seats, you choose. Once those doors opened, I would sprint to the front. As he parked the car, I ran out and rushed to the doors. I smiled as I stood in the chilly weather, waiting to see my favorite band.

Athena was blowing up her social media with videos from the concert. Especially on her Snapchat. I frowned, knowing I ruined every chance of going even our friendship. She looked so happy, smiling so widely, singing her heart out. She was in the first row, touching the metal bars that held the crowd back. In one video, the camera was on Jason. He wasn't paying attention to the concert, his eyes were on Athena. I felt a ping of jealousy, that wasn't me in the video, staring at her.

For the past week, Athena has completely avoided me. She wouldn't go to the library anymore, she knew I would look for her there. I wanted to apologize, be friends and maybe more. Thank god none of her brothers knew what happened, I wouldn't live another day. Which is the way it should be, after saying those things to her. Jason kept his distance from me even though he wasn't able to escape my attempts at glaring.

I was currently at Kyle's house, mopping around. "Man, cheer up! Forget about Athena anyway, you can find someone else." Kyle snapped me out of my long thoughts.

"I don't want anyone else. Everyone else at our school is fake, liars. It's filled with people who wear masks. She's different but I messed everything up." I laid my head in my hands. Kyle signed loudly and slapped my back harshly, causing me to sit upright.

"Let's go. We are going out and finding you someone. There's a fair in town where everyone goes to. We can find someone there for the both of us." My friend stood up and waited for me to follow him. He was serious. I had no clue how we were going to get there but a walk would be nice.

I was absolutely exhausted from the concert. I was one of the wild fans, jumping around, singing my lungs out. The car ride was long, after a few minutes in the car I was out like a light. When I woke up, Jason's right hand was placed on my thigh, keeping me warm. "Are you up for going to the town fair? I can win you something." Jason proposed. I yawned before mumbling a, 'sure why not'.

When we arrived at the fair, it was jammed packed. Jason somehow found a decent parking spot near the entrance. As I stepped out of the car, I shivered slightly even though I was wearing a big sweatshirt. I rushed to Jason's side, he was always warm. I didn't know what we were. Dating? Plain Friends? Friends with benefits? I kept debating these labels in my head until I was pulled back into reality. "Ferris wheel?" I nodded and switched directions.
