Chapter 29

*Nathan's Point of View*

When the last bell for school rang I rushed out of the building to get to the library. It was the only thing I have looking forward to all day. My notebook was in my backpack, ready to be filled with more pictures of my favorite person. When I entered the library, I could already see Athena in her usual spot. I dropped my backpack and sat in front of her. The sudden sound caused her to look at me with a startled face. "Sorry," I apologized. My hands unzipped my bag and pulled out my almost full notebook and pencil.

Athena stared at the notebook, knowing what it contained. "Did you draw more?" She asked.

The sophisticated teenage girl understood that the only thing in this book was her. "Yes, I draw every time I get an idea." More like every time I think about her which was very often. She put the bookmarker in her story before setting it down on the wooden table.

"You know, Sunshine, I have actually missed talking to you," she confessed. My heart flickered a little, knowing that she was thinking of me. The conversation went on to be about many other useless things, but it entertained us. After an hour or 2 of talking, she suggested getting food down the street because both of us were extremely hungry. When she went to put her coat on, her phone fell out of her pocket. I picked it up for her, making the sensor go off and turning on the phone. There had to be at least 2 dozen texts and calls from Dean, her phone was on don't disturb. I turned off the phone and handed it back to her.

We continued hanging out without me mentioning her messages from her boyfriend. There was a reason why her phone was on disturb and I did not want to interfere. I was here to spend time with Athena not start a fight with her. We went to the pizza place that was a few minutes walk where we spent a few more hours talking. By the time we decided to leave, it was about 8 p.m. which was decently early. She told me she needed to do homework which I completely understood.

When I was walking back home, I had the biggest smile on my face. It was like nothing ever happened between us, the conversations were long deep, making it more intimate between us. She told me about Russia and how she went to California first to visit a dear friend of hers. The enthusiasm in her voice made it better, she was so happy about the whole experience despite the circumstances. She laughed and smiled about everything we talked about. The conversation never grew awkward, making me extremely satisfied.

I forgot about the world for a while, she made all the madness disappear even though she was madness itself.

*Athena's Point of View*

Hanging out with Nathan was a something I needed, it was a chill atmosphere. I have been hanging around Dean most of the time, not that I was complaining but I do want to speak to other people. My brothers were around but they hated me, so I am not able to go to them. Nathan and I are finally on good terms, so I have another friend. Damon, honestly, I never see him. If I do he is whispering with Dean about something, keeping me out of it. He no longer seemed to be my friend anymore, he was Dean's little minion.

I put my key in the front door of Dean's house before opening it. I closed it, allowing the door to give out a loud screech. I heard feet running down the stairs which is when I saw an angry Dean. "Where the fuck were you?" He snapped. I had barely gotten through the door and I was already getting yelled at. I dropped my bag and took off my coat to hang it on the hook near the door.

"I told you I was going to the library with Nathan after school-" I started to explain but he cut me off.

"And I remember telling you not to go!" He yelled once again. I made my way around him and went towards the living room, wanting to put my stuff down to do homework.
