Chapter 13
*Athena's Point of View*
Damon drove me back to my house after I woke up which was around noon. My parents weren't home but my brothers were. The new kid parked his truck in front of my house and came inside with me. He wasn't a horrible person at all, he was just different. When we walked into the house, all of my brothers were crowded around in the living room. "Where were you?!"
I shrugged my shoulders and pulled Damon into the kitchen with me, I was starving. The first person to follow us was Nathan. Why was he here? He was the one who humiliated me. Damon stood in front of me with his arms crossed, glaring at Nathan. "We were worried sick about you! Where were you?" The jerk exclaimed. I looked at my new friend and he had the same confused look as me. "Are you going to answer me?" I shook my head. I was not in the mood to speak to him.
Soon after Nathan speaks, my brothers walk in. "What's going on with you? First, you leave the party, don't come home and now you aren't talking again," Ivan observed. I didn't say anything as I continued to search for food. "What are you wearing?"
"I gave her my clothes so she didn't have to stay in that costume all day," Damon answered.
"My little sister slept over at your place?" Viktor jumped in. His voice had evidence of anger and confusion. "Why did you go to someone's house when you don't even know them?" He yelled at me. His eyes wandered up and down my outfit, "did you have sex?!" I was wearing one of Damon's white tee shirts and a pair of boxers.
I pulled out my phone and typed, "I didn't want to come home." I left his last question unknown since that wasn't anyone's business.
Everyone had an upset look on their face, I was back to my silent ways and that's how it should be. People like Nathan give me reasons not to speak, not to trust anyone. I don't understand why I told him things or even spoke to him. It was my fault and this was my punishment.
"Why aren't you talking anymore?" Roman asked. I looked him in the eyes and looked at Nathan. I turn away from them and take my pills, I swallow 4 pills at once just like I always do. "Nathan, what did you do?" Roman was holding back his tears as he pushed the sophomore. He hated it when I didn't talk. Ivan grabbed him so he wouldn't be able to pounce on Nathan.
"I don't know what she is talking about!" He replied. Damon chuckled under his breath. "What are you laughing about?"
"You will find out soon." Right as he said that, Christov's phone buzzed then everyone else's did. Their phones started to play Nathan's voice and what he said last night. This morning someone had sent out a video of what happened, I already saw it. The point of view was from someone in the backyard, not from anyone on the deck. I think I have an idea of who it was but I was going to keep that to myself.
Once the video ended Grayson eyed his little brother, "what is wrong with you?! She was your first real friend in this town and you had to ruin that! Apologize to her! She doesn't deserve to be treated like that. You humiliated her in front of half of the school, now there is a video floating around! I should have allowed mom to send you to that boarding school." He yanked on his brother's shirt, pulling him towards me. Nathan stumbled as he was being pulled, there were tears in his eyes. He shouldn't be the one who's crying, I was the one who was made a fool. "Say it," Grayson sneered.
"Athena, I'm so sorry. I was drinking last night, I didn't mean what I said. You know that's not how I see you. I really like you and I just got jealous. Please forgive me," he begged. My face was still, emotionless. I wanted to slap him, scream and throw him out but he didn't deserve that type of energy. I refused to speak to anyone now. I will die without speaking to anyone. I didn't want to go back to school, seeing everyone laugh at me.
