Getting Mixed Signals

I pulled out my phone and dialed Logan's number again for about the 10th time that day. I groaned softly when I got his answering machine.

"Where is he?" I asked out loud softly, before getting up.

I walked up to the door of Logan's apartment and knocked. Stepping back, I waited for him to answer. He had to be home because his car was parked out front. I waited slightly impatiently, tapping my foot gently. When I was about to turn and leave, the door opened. I looked back and saw him standing in the doorway without a shirt on.

"Veronica, what are you doing here?" he asked, a bit surprised and out of breath.
I looked at him curiously, before walking past him into his apartment and over to his phone. I pressed the messages button on his answering machine and listened as my own voice filled the apartment. Then, I picked up his phone and turned it on. The sound of the dial tone filled my ear, before I clicked it off and set it down.

"Okay, so your phone and answering machine are working. Mind telling me why you didnt answer my calls or even call me back?" I shot at him as I turned back to him and crossed my arms over my chest. Logan opened his mouth to respond, but was interrupted by a crash coming from his room. I perked an eyebrow and started towards his bedroom door.

"Veronica, don't-" he started to say, but stopped when I opened the door. I froze at the scene before me. The blonde that Jacob had brought as his date when we had all gone to the karaoke bar stood half naked next to Logan's bed, trying to pull on her jeans.

"Unbelievable." I mumbled to myself as I shook my head and turned around. I walked by Logan, ignoring his pleas for me to listen, to let him explain.

"Veronica, please! Just let m-" he said, before I whipped around to face him. Again, deja vu hit me hard and Jacob was standing in front of me. It was the night that he cheated on me with Bella again and we stood in that motel room instead of Logan's apartment. Then I blinked and I was snapped back to reality. Logan stepped towards me, but before he could get too close, I slapped him very hard. So hard that there was a nice imprint of my hand on his face.

"Stay away from me and my family." I spat at him, before turning back around and walking out of the apartment. I walked back into the waiting room where Kat, Embry, Jacob, and Haley were still sitting. Kat and Embry were sitting close together and whispering, while Jacob was playing with Haley, who was now up from her nap. I just stood there watching them all for a little bit, before Jacob must have sensed me and looked over.

"Ronnie, what's wrong?" he asked. I walked a little closer to them and looked at just Jacob.
