23~Distant Relatives

Isabella's POV

Everything was crazy when my humanity came back

All of my feelings started to rush in like a riptide

I was sad, scared and ashamed that I had done all of that stuff

Especially hurting Grayson

All I could think about was when he said he loved me

And I ignored it

When we talked he said he understood that it wasn't me talking, it was the heartless vampire in me

He slept over and we talked more, then I heard to door bell ring

Grayson walks over to answer it and it was Brie

She sees me and runs over to me to hugs me

I missed her

She told me that everything was ok and I told her everything that I did

Then she looked serious

"I have to tell you something" she says. "What is it?" I say. "I think I might have seen Katherine yesterday"

"What?" I say confused and moving my head towards her

Yesterday evening

Brie's POV

I walked as fast as I could out of my house to see Isabella

I wanted to comfort her

As I was walking I bumped into someone

I recognized her

She had long curly brown hair with brown eyes. She wore heels and had a facial expression that could tell her personality just by one look

It was Katherine, it had to be

"Uhh, are you, um, is your name, Katharine?" I stuttered

Her faced changed a little from a glare to innocent and confused "no I'm Elena" she says

"Oh. My bad sorry" I say and ran to my destination

Isabella's POV

"You didn't believed her?"

"Of course not. With all the stories you said the Salvatore brothers told you I knew she was lying. It was a good impression but she kind of felt a little, off"

"But Stefan and Damon said she died" I say in confusion

"Maybe she was and now she's back. That wouldn't surprise me with all we've been through"

"But nevermind how she's here Isabella, she's here, your grandmother. You guys can finally meet" Brie says and hops a little to show excitement

"I no longer care about her. She's bad news. I know she's my family but, the stories that Stefan and Damon told me of how she ruined their lives just to save hers, I can't meet her" Brie looks disappointed

"I'm sorry. But thank you for thinking of me"I say and leave the room to get dressed

Grayson's POV

"How could she not care?" Brie says to me

"She's heard horror stories about her and doesn't want anything to do with her. It's common sense"
