When morning came, the sun brought warmth to Kiel and his family who appeared weak and meek. He eyed them with his indifferent gaze. He promised them hope, but betrayed when none came to their rescue before their execution.

They were dragged outside of their prison, making sure they were lined up by age. His mother was leading the march, his brother next, him and then the youngest who couldn't stop his tears. He was always the upbeat and optimist, but now, such a young child was walking towards his own death. Kiel could only furrow his brow as he took pity for his youngest brother who could have had a brighter future than any of them.

In the silence, he prayed. And so thought the soldiers.

When they reached outside, Kiel could see the beautiful sunny and cloudless morning. He smiled briefly and was then urged to keep walking. He did not mind their rigid operations. They were trained to be so. And with a glance, he could see the city square, where every civilians would pass by as they went about their days.

And he could see Fatima's unconscious body hanged at the gallows. She appeared thirst and pale. She did not even notice Kiel's approach whom she always used to glance at first anywhere. Her breathing was growing weaker, and many speculated she would not last the day, especially on such a hot day such as today.

Kiel narrowed his eyes to observe.

There were many soldiers assigned at every corner around the square. He wondered what they were there for, and why the need for vigilance. None of them could win a fight even if they try. They were far too weakened from lack of sleep and no food.

Despite Kiel's interest to the King's plans, his thoughts were abruptly stopped as it was his turn to wear a noose. So it was death by suffocation.

He looked up at the glaring sun once again. As he brought his eyes down to close, he saw the King arrive, with his Queen in tow. The princes and princesses were not in sight.

"Your Majesty, here are the traitors." It was General Sling who announced, gesturing to their pitiful state. Since young, Kiel had thought that if there was anyone their family could trust, it was General Sling himself. But his judgement betrayed him once again today.

It seems transmigrating into a world full of unsuspecting enemies was not just a place for him to survive. His life until now was great, but trouble seemed to chase him around. With his dead gaze, Kiel looked at the King squarely. His silver eyes glinted with nothingness, not even hatred for the King who failed to fight for their family's reputation.

The King's eyes, however, revealed something Kiel did not expect.

They were a pair of soft ocean blue. His eyes spoke of pity and love.

'Why...???' Kiel strongly wondered.

And with a nod of the King, the civilians gave their bow.

'What...??' Kiel once again asked.

He turned towards Kiel, into his eyes, and revealed his hidden intentions.

'Why is he sorry....?' Kiel was now exhausted, but he couldn't help and look around frantically for any more clues.

The King clearly did not want their death. But why were they hanged up for? What were the soldiers doing, and what were they guarding?

Questions after questions piled up until the King gave his assent.

It was time to hang their heads. Everyone of their's.
