Summer's POV

I woke up by the sound of my alarm and realized now we only have one more week to practice our song for the Talent Show. But we are really good together, I'm sure we're gonna do really well!

I did my usual morning routine and went downstairs to have breakfast.

"Good morning, sweetie!" My mom greeted me, kissing my forehead.
"Morning, mom!" I said.
"So, I was informed that your class will be joining a Talent Show!"
"Oh yeah, our school will be hosting one in a week, and my class will be competing!"
"What are you guys going to do?"
"We'll play a song that Freddy wrote, it's about friendship."
"Are you going to sing?"
"Yes, I'll sing with Freddy, and Tomika and Zack will sing together!"
"Awww, my baby is growing up so fast!" She said, wipping away a fake tear and hugging me.
"Okay, okay! I better go now, I don't want to be late!" I said.
"Alright. Have fun, honey!"
"I will!" I said, and started walking to school.

Then, suddenly, I felt someone jumping on my back and I heard a scream. I screamed too, and turned around to see no one else than...

"Freddy, oh my God! You scared me so much!" I said, punching him in the arm.
"Hahahaha!!! You screamed like a girl!!! Hahahahahaha!!!" He said, crying from laughing.
"That's because I AM a girl!!" I screamed.
"Oh. Right." He said, all serious. I just rolled my eyes and walked away.

"Hey! Don't be mad, Summy! Where are you going?" He asked me.
"School?" I said.
"Ooh!! Yes. Me too!" He said.

We had minor talks and lots of laughing until we arrived at school. I got all the books I needed for the first period and went to the classroom.

"Hey, Summer!" Lawrence said, as soon as I got in.
"Hey Lawrence! Hey guys!" I said.
"Hey!!" They all answered.

About 15 minutes later, the bell rang. 40 minutes after that, Mr Finn came in by the window.
"Let's rock, my people!!" He said, and we grabbed our instruments.

We jammed out for about an hour, and decided to take a little break.

"Alright, rockers! Listen up!" Mr Finn said, and we turned our attention to him.
"What's up?!" Freddy asked.
"We have one more week to practice this song. In my opinion, we all sound great! We have a big chance to win." He said.
"We rock!" Tomika said.
"But! This isn't about winning. It's about showing our talents to the world. This is our chance to be recognized as a band in this school and by our families. We can't mess up!" Mr Finn said, making me nervous. "Break is over! Let's practice some more before lunch!"

All the time during the practice, I couldn't stop thinking about what Mr Finn said. He's right, this is our chance, we can't mess up.

The bell finally rang and we started to walk to the cafeteria to have lunch.

While walking, I felt a hand on my shoulder, and turned around to see Freddy.

"Oh, hey Freddy." I said, feeling down.
"What's wrong? You looked nervous today." He asked.
"Yeah, I just... Have a headache." I said. I don't wanna tell him I'm afraid.
"Sum, if something's wrong, you can tell me. We're best friends, I'll always be here for you, no matter what. You know that, right?"
"I do, and I'm really thankful for that, seriously. But it's okay, I'm completely fine, really." I said.
"You sure?"
"I'm sure."
"Okay, then. But don't forget it!" He said, and side hugged me.

We walked side hugging to the cafeteria and went to the line to get our food. It was smashed potatos day!! I love it.

When we got our food, we went to our usual table, where everyone else was already sat.

"What took you guys so long?" Zack asked.
"Some particular stuff." Freddy said.
"Okay?" Tomika said, what looked like more of a question.
"Thank Godness there's no more rats in here!" Lawrence said.
"Yeah. Cause last time I was all covered with your food!" I said.
"Yeah... Sorry about that." Lawrence said, and we all laughed.

But I still couldn't stop thinking about the show... I didn't want to mess it up.

But what if I do?
