Spitfire One-Shots Chapter 29

Artemis Meets Artemis

Artemis rushed out of Gotham Academy, glad the day was over and she could go home. She was barely off the campus when her phone vibrated in her pocket. She ignored it, and continued to walk assuming she would deal with it when she got home. Then her hip kept on vibrating and vibrating and it didn’t seem like it would stop anytime soon.

Annoyed she pulled out her phone and checked to see who was spamming her with messages. It was was Wally of course, who else could it be. These were how his messages went:

Hey Arty are we still on for our date tomorrow?

Are you not replying because I called you Arty babe?

You know you can’t stay angry at me for long ;)

And for some reason Robin wants me to tell you to come to the cave

And before you complain that it’s your day off, he asked me too

So I’ll see you in a flash

I’ve been hanging out too much with Uncle Barry

Later Arty

Artemis sighed for many reasons. The first being Wally’s stream of texts followed by a set of completely unrelated emojis. The second being he kept calling her Arty, which he knew she hated, and finally for being called to the cave after a long day of school on a day she had off, but the reminder of their date cheered her up. She would be cutting it short by going back home to change and then going to the cave.

However, she didn’t have an extra change of clothes there so she had no other choice. Whatever Robin wanted had to wait. She was certain that if this was just a ploy to get her to the cave for some type of nonsense she couldn't control her urge to punch someone.

She made her way back home and quickly changed on the off chance it was something serious. She also made a mental note to herself to remind Wally about his texting habits.

Artemis made her way to the zeta tube in Gotham and within seconds was inside the cave.

“Why am I here?” She asked once stepping out. She wasn’t given a verbal reply, but managed to piece everything herself. Wonder Woman was standing in training room with a bunch of tall, intimidating women clad in gladiator sandals with swords at their sides.

“Artemis, you’re here.” Wally said running over to her. He gave her a quick kiss and led her to where the rest of the team stood, a few feet away from the Amazons.

“What’s going on Wally?”

“Batman convinced Wonder Woman to bring some Amazons to help us train.” Robin replied jumping into the conversation. They jumped not seeing where he came from. Of course Robin just grinned at the confusion he called.

“And that’s not the best part.” Wally started to say.

“Wally I swear if you even look at another woman’s legs I will smack you.” Robin chuckled quietly in the background.

“You know I only have eyes for you.” He told her kissing her cheek, and resting his hand on her face.

“I know.” She said softly looking into his eyes.

Robin coughed in the background. “There are other people in this room in case you guys forgot.” And just like that the moment was over.

“What I was going to say was that you should meet someone.” Wally then proceeded to lead her directly to a blonde Amazon.
