Previously: After a heated argument, Wally and Artemis just released a prank war on each other.
Wally was wandering around the cave aimlessly. He was trying to find something he could do to get Artemis back. Just thinking about her made his blood boil. He thought he had an idea before, then got distracted by food. Wally gave up on trying to remember his old plan, it probably wouldn't have bothered her that much anyway.
He found himself pacing in the library. He knows she had a room in the cave even though she didn't live there, he had one himself, there was nothing special about that. And then a lightbulb went off into his head. If he went into her room that would give him the answers he needed. Or he could do something to her room instead like cover it with silly string. She is barely in her room so it must be empty. Imagine the look on her face when she walks in and sees the entire room covered in silly string. Or even better, an entire room filled with Kid Flash posters. Now we're talking. She would never see it coming.
Wally used his super speed and made enough copies to cover everything in the entire room in under 10 minutes. Now all he had to do was put them up. He must have used a whole ream of paper trying to print enough papers. He knew she wasn't going to be in the cave until later today, he overheard Megan talking to Artemis over the phone in the morning. Therefore, he had plenty of time to invade her room with posters of himself winking against a red and yellow background.
Once he finally found the tape, he went to work immediately to decorate her room in a Kid Flash friendly way. Even though he had more than enough time to finish his task, he pushed himself to go a little faster. He still had one more prank up his sleeve, one that would take immediate results.
Wally stood back and looked at his handiwork as soon as he finished. After a while the posters on the wall began to look creepy. Artemis is going to flip out and Wally could not wait until he saw her reaction. Maybe he should get a tape recorder ready.
Kid Flash moved onwards to his next plan. It was more basic but will do the trick nicely. He ran to Happy Harbor and bought red hair dye which he placed in Artemis' shampoo bottle. Oddly enough he knew which bottle was hers. Wally also knew that she takes really long showers after she has gone through training. And today, she was scheduled to fight with Canary. All Wally had to do at this point was sit back, eat some nachos and wait for everything to fall into place.
Enough time has passed for him to get another snack. He saw Megan go into the kitchen a while ago and the smell of cookies soon came after. He could ask her about Artemis then, killing two birds with one stone.
"Hey Megalicious." Wally says sitting on a stool right in front of the cooling cookies. "Hi Wally." The Martian greets him with a smile. She does shift the cookies to the right. "Give them another minute to cool before you eat them Wally." She told him turning her back to clean up.
Wally waited another two seconds before popping a few cookies in his mouth. Still chewing he asks, "Do you know where Artemis is?" He tried to ask it as casually as possible not to arise any suspicion. It was pointless anyway seeings as how Megan could read his mind easily.
"She was headed towards the shower a few minutes ago after her practice with Black Canary." Wally smirked, he planned this perfectly. There were no flaws in his plan. He even hacked into the Cave's security cameras to erase to footage of him sneaking into her room. He learned that trick from Robin.
Wally grabbed some more cookies to celebrate his master plan at getting back at Artemis at last. All of the sudden they hear a loud shriek. It was followed by Artemis shouting Wally's name. Megan dropped what she was holding in surprise. She looked at Wally with her hands on her hips.
On the other hand, Wally just continued to sit on his stool munching on his cookie trying to look innocent. Megan shook her head at him and went back to cleaning. Wally could hear the thundering footsteps of the archer. Seconds later she stomps into the kitchen with her bright red hair still damp from her shower.
"Wally West what have you done!?" She shouted at him pointing to her hair. Her eyes were fixed in a glare, that under normal circumstances would be chilling. "You are dripping water on the floor, and you are asking me what I've done?" He replied cheekily. Artemis was no amused.
"Well maybe if someone hadn't put hair dye in my shampoo then I wouldn't have left the bathroom in such a rush." Her words came out rushed and angrily. Wally dropped his cookie and stood up. They were almost eye to eye with only the island in the kitchen separating them.
"I'm not going to let you slander my good name. I'm innocent." He even crossed his arms at the end.
"Why do I find it hard to believe you?" She asked him, her eyes trained on him like a hawk.
"I've done nothing wrong here Artemis. I think you should go to your room and cool off before you attack another innocent person." And now he has a way for her to see what he did to her room. Artemis growled and almost lunged at him. One hand clenching the front of his shirt while the other was tightened into a fist inches from his face. It was then that Wally feared his plan might backfire.
Surprisingly, she lowered her fist muttering that he wasn't worth it. "Watch your step Wally." She warned him subconsciously tightening her hands into fists again. "Is that a threat?" He asked her trying to fix his shirt.
"No it's a promise. I will come after you hard. Soon you'll be begging for mercy." Wally was scared that her eyes lit up when she said this. He was beginning to worry for himself. Somehow he managed to say, "Bring it on."
Artemis glared at him one last time before stomping over to her room. At least now both of them know what they are getting into, sort of. Wally reclaimed his seat and found it necessary to finish the rest of the cookies Meghan made, just for the sake of it.
Wally assumed she made it to her room when he heard her lovely voice screaming that she was going to kill him once she got her hands on him. He smiles grabbing the remaining cookies and running to the zeta tubes. It was fun while it lasted.
Megan, who witnesses the whole thing, shook her head at them with a knowing smile.
A/N: I finished this chapter a lot sooner than I expected. To be fair, this chapter is a lot shorter than I wanted it to be. I think the other chapters after this might be the same length for Prank Wars. I have no other news, I think the next chapter is going to be a continuation. It might be up in 2 weeks, it depends on my updating schedule for my other stories and my schoolwork.
