"So, where are you taking me this time?" I asked.

"Lets just keep it a surprise shall we," he smirked.

He opened his car door for me, I got settled as we drove off.

I realized where we were heading, as we were surrounded by a body of water.

I waited patiently until we arrived.

Zach parked the car and looked at me,

"The beach?" I asked.

"Is there something wrong?" He wondered.

"We're not going to swim are we? Its already getting dark,"

"Of course not, lets go," He got out of the car and opened the door for me like a perfect gentlemen would.

Taking off our shoes, we walked down the shoreline.

"Beautiful weather is'nt it?" he says breaking the silence.

"Yes, it is,"

"So, how come your religion forbids you from speaking to men?" he asked.

"Its very complicated, if I were seen with you, I would be killed,"

"Im sorry to hear that, I don't want anything to happen to you because of me, but I like spending time with you," He gazed at me as I looked down, feeling shy.

I felt like I could see the ocean through his eyes. His honesty pulled me towards him even more.

I maintained my distance as he began walking away.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

He fully ignored me, and I wasn't quite pleased with it.

He walked towards the water that was up to his knee's. He kicked the ocean's beautiful blue water, splashing it all over me.

"You did not just do that," I grinned.

"Oh, yes I did," He laughed.

I got into the water and began splashing him, we looked like two maniacs.

Drips of water flew everywhere, the wind blew harder, and I laughed like I never have before.

It was fun while it lasted.

"It's getting very cold," I said shivering.

He quikly ran to his car to grab his jacket. He slowly put it on me and I felt much warmer.

We grabbed a couple of wooden sticks and built a fire.

We sat next to eachother on a long wooden log.

"Warmer?" he asked.

"Yes, thanks."

In silence, we stared at the moon.

He began scooting himself closer to me, but I just ignored.

As he was only a heart beat away, he began talking.

"You know, when I first saw you, I knew there was just something about you that was different than all the other girls,"

"Funny, I actually kind of thought you were exactly the same as any other guy, but now I realize I was completely wrong,"

"Well, I've been having alot of fun with you lately. I feel so happy when I'm around you, I just cant help but smile when I look into your beautiful eyes." He said passionately.

I looked deeply into his eyes as he poured out his feelings.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked politely.

Though I knew what the consequences were, I was enjoying the moment, "Yes, I will," I smiled.

He slowly came closer, I was insanely nervous, I knew he wanted to kiss me, and I didn't want to tell him I didn't know how to.

His lips softly pressed against mine.

My heart skipped a beat, I couldn't believe it, I was having my first kiss, and it was the best feeling I have ever experienced.

I slowly moved away, he noticed how nervous I was so he held my hand in his and pulled me towards him.

He placed my head on his shoulder and we spent the next hour holding each other close and witnessing the moon's bright light.

My phone started ringing, "Yes mom?" I answered.

"Honey, where are you?"

"Mom I'm at a resteraunt with the girls,"

"Stop lying, Jasmine just called the house asking for you,"

I was terrified.

I got up and began thinking of quick excuses.

"Yea, its just Arwa, Ahlam, and I,"

My mom was furious, "You're still lying? Ahlam is at home, she has guests over. Now tell me, where are you? Tell me right now before I call your father?"

My heart was beating like an ancient African drum.

"Okay, mom, the truth is, I'm at the Library being tutored like I told you before," It was the best I could come up with.

"Tutored? At this time? By who?"

Zach, accidentaly began coughing as a group of girls walked by talking and laughing.

"Is that a man with you? You're not at the library I can hear the people around you. Young lady you better get home this very instant, or else,"

For me, "Or Else" usually meant she would tell my dad everything.

"Okay, bye." I hung up the phone.

"Zach, I have to go, now. Can you drive me back? I have to get my car,"

Fearing the consequences, suicidal thoughts triggered.

"Im so dead," I began crying.

"It's okay, everything will be fine," Zach tried to calm me down.

"No, you don't get it. If my mother tells my father I was out with a man, I'm dead, literally."

Zach, hearing this, stepped on the gas pedal.

As I was getting out the car, Zach grabbed my hand.

He pulled me closer and gave me another passionate kiss.

It was practically irresistible. "I really like you Mariam, take care."

Without saying a word, I left.

I started my car and headed home.

As I rang the doorbell, my hands were trembling.

I walked in and saw my mother and father sitting down on the sofa waiting for me.

"Sit down, we need to talk." my father says with a serious facial expression.
