"Oh no," I mumbled. I didn't know if I should go downstairs or not. The doorbell rang several times, "Okay okay, I'm coming, gosh!" my mother shouted.

"No, no, no, no," I said to myself.

I crawled down midway of the stairs, to spy on them. As my mom opened the door, it was him. Zach is actually at my house and my mother is standing right in front of him.

"Who the hell are you?" my mother asked.

"Hello madam, I'm Zachary," he answered.

My mom slowly began to close the door, "Sorry young man, I don't have any change to spare. Try our chinese neighbors, they love to throw out money," my mom says with a serious face.

"No, no. I'm not asking for any money,"

"Then what the hell do you want?" she opens the door again.

"Im Mariams boyfriend," he explained.

My mom scanned him up and down, examining his every move, "Boyfriend?" she slams the door in his face.

As she turned around, she spotted me lurking, "Did you send him here?"

"No, I swear I didnt."

Zach continuously knocked on the door.

Suddenly, I heard a door open from upstairs.

"Please don't be my dad, please don't be my dad, please don't be my dad." I begged god.

The door slammed and he came out.

"Dammit, its my dad," I whispered, punching the floor.

"Can't anybody get a decent nap around here? Who the hell is that at the door? If its that white boy from the church again, I swear..." my father begins to blabber.

Zach is still at the door, knocking in a continuous rhythm.

"No one, its no one. Get back to your nap," my mother pleaded.

"Open the god damn door. He woke me up, I will make sure I see who this person is," my father demanded.

As he approached the door, my heart was beating faster than a free fallers heart ever did.

He opened the door. Seeing Zach, he asked, "Excuse you. May I help you?" My dad asked in a very sarcastic but mean tone.

"Hello sir, I'm Zachary. You must be Mariams father?" He held out his hand to shake my fathers hand.

My dad looked down to his hand, and awkwardly looked back at him, ignoring his hand.

"I came to talk to you about Mariam, its very important. I am her boyfriend, and I am deeply in love with her. Can you please give us a chance, our relationship is very serious. Mariam is very sweet and innocent, she has never done anything wrong," Zach replied to my dads dramatically red face.

My dad then looked up at me as my heart stopped beating.

He nodded his head with a fake smile and quickly walked to the kitchen, not saying a word.

Zach, thinking my father is okay with what he just said, walks into the house and shuts the door.

Nervously looking at my mother, my father came back into the scene.

I spotted something in his hand, but what was it? It was silver and shiny.

"Oh my god, its a knife," I whispered.
