An officer walked up to the door and knocked softly.

"Coming," Mariam's mother, Nancy, opened the door.

"Hello, I'm from the Durham county police department, you might want to take a seat," the officer bestowed his badge.

"Mom, what's going on?" Jamal asked as he arrived home with Manal.

"Sir, take a seat while we ask a few questions," the officer demanded.

"Manal, go to your room," Nancy patted her back back.

"When was the last time you two spoke to Ahmed Amr?" He investigated.

"Yesterday, he didn't return home last night. Why? Is he okay?" Nancy panicked as she bounced out of her seat.

Jamal rushed to calm her down, "Is everything okay officer?" He asked in concern.

"Ahmed was found dead at a gas station about twenty miles away from here. He was shot and killed, I'm sorry for your loss. We're going to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible,"

"AHMED!" Nancy screamed. She began crying horrifically until she fainted and fell to the floor.

"Mom, mom.." Jamal fell to his knees.

"Who did this?" He shouted.

"Sir, we aren't sure yet. But when we find out, you'll be the first two to know,"

Manal rushed downstairs to see what the chaos was all about, but she hid midway of the stairs.

The officer quickly called an ambulance to pick up Nancy.

As she was carried off, the officer returned to his questioning.

"Do you have any idea what he was doing out there? Or who he was meeting with?"

"No, I, I, I was on the phone with him and suddenly it got disconnected," he began stuttering.

"What were you two talking about?"

"I told him my brother in law was murdered, he is the person that kidnapped my.." Jamal jumped to his feet.

"Wait a minute, before my dad hung up, I heard him say my sister's name, Mariam," Jamal's jaw dropped in shock.

"So where is your sister now?"

"I don't know, but it all makes sense now. She must have killed Khalil then escaped, and to top it all off, she killed my father, just so she can be with Zachary," he sat back down putting his palm against his forehead.

"And who is this Zachary you speak of?" The officer began taking notes.

"Zachary Spencer, my sister's boyfriend. She tried running away with him once, I wouldn't be surprised if she would kill anyone that gets in her way just to be with him. This girl has gone mad,"

"Sir, calm down please. We're done here," the officer looked at his partner.

They walked out to their police car, leaving Jamal by himself with homicidal thoughts triggering.

"I'M GOING TO KILL HER!" Jamal shouted as he picked up a chair and threw it out the window, shattering its bright glass.

"Jamal, is daddy okay?" Manal appeared in front of him.

Jamal looked up at her with sincerity, as she is now left alone with no father to care for her.

"Daddy is gone," he explained as he cried even harder.

"But, but he cant be gone. He promised me a surprise for my birthday next week, I need him," the poor girl didn't know what to think.

"Manal, I'm sorry, but daddy is not coming home anymore, and its all Mariam's fault." Jamal reached over to hug her.
