3rd Perspective
Obviously confused, Obi-wan turned back to face it. Though he understood some of what it was saying, he didn't believe it."Ezra is a strong minded boy who knows what he is doing. The reason we restrict his powers is so he can keep himself under control. I know Ezra. We do this to protect him, so he can keep his mind straight. Ezra is on the right side. Your Master knows nothing about him," Obi-wan stated. The Changeling laughed again
"You're not wrong. My Master doesn't know everything about Ezra. But he knows him enough to predict what will happen to him. Whether he knows it or not, Ezra's destiny is set. All that is left is to wait." The Changeling bit down on something and his eyes rolled back along with his head. Obi-wan stood there, watching as the look-a-like slowly changed back to it's original form. He didn't say anything. He left the room and tried to wrap his head around the words of the Changeling's Master.
---
Obi-wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka approached Ezra's dorm. After getting back from his rescue mission, he had a few wounds. Fortunately, they weren't serious, only the one on his chest was bleeding more than the others.
"Hello Ezra." Obi-wan stepped into the room, examining the boy sitting on the bed. He smiled warily and gazed at Anakin and Ahsoka. Ahsoka make a slightly confused face for a few seconds.
"Hello Master Kenobi and Master Skywalker." Ezra bowed his head. "Ahsoka." He bowed his head to her, too.
"How are you feeling?" Ahsoka questioned. Ezra hesitated for a moment.
"Feeling better, that's for sure. But I'm tired out and just want to rest," Ezra chuckled. He rubbed his neck. He avoided eye contact with everyone in the room when someone spoke. Every once in a while, he would squeeze his eyes shut and shake his head. Eventually, they caught on.
"What's on your mind, Ezra?" Obi-wan asked. Anakin, Obi-wan, and Ahsoka patiently waited for his answer.
"Is it really that obvious?" Ezra said, optimistically. Though he tried joking, it was clear that it was concerning.
Anakin sighed heavily, "Come on, spit it out."
Ezra remained quiet for minutes. Not wanting to answer. He rubbed his forehead a good number of times before turning his body their direction.
"Count Dooku's Master, told me things. Things....that made me think. That made me wonder, and.... question as well," Ezra bent his neck. Disconnecting any sort of way to view his face. A concerned look planted itself on the Jedi's expressions.
"How is that possible?" Anakin asked. "Last time they got to you it took them about a week to do so. How were they able to get you in two days?"
"Because this wasn't like last time! Last time, they came into my cell and mentally tortured me for hours, left, and came back to torture some more. This time...this time, they had Dooku's Master's voice repeat itself over and over again on a recorder. It never ended. I never got a break from listening to the words that forced me to wonder. Th-That made me question what is wrong with the Jedi ways. I-I-I couldn't help it. I couldn't resist it. I couldn't stop my mind from rethinking my choices," Ezra yelled out. His nose was turning to a shade of red, and so were his eyes. As though, he was about to cry. Yet, his facial expressions didn't change. It stayed still as a wall.
Anakin knelt down to Ezra's height, and placed his hands on his shoulders, "Ezra, answer me truthfully. Are you doubting the Jedi Code?"
Even though it was obvious that Ezra is in doubt, Anakin wanted to confirm it himself. He drawed in a deep breath.
"I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry," Ezra whimpered. It wasn't like him to respond that way. Ahsoka has never seen Ezra on the verge of tears, so he must be feeling guilty for questioning the Jedi Code.
"Ezra." Obi-wan knelt down next to Anakin. "The Jedi Code is what protects from doing harm. What helps us avoid the Dark Side. If you start going against it more than you already do, things will get ugly. Do you want to end up feeling anger and rage for the rest of your life?" Ezra shook his head. "Then follow the Jedi ways and no harm will be done. You don't want to end up like your parents either, do you?"
Ezra breathed in heavily again and a face of annoyance appeared, "No, I don't Master Kenobi."
"Good boy," both masters rose to their feet.
"We have to go now, but you should get some rest. You did have a rough two days," Anakin said. As the three Jedi were heading towards the door, Ezra stopped them.
"Master Obi-wan," Ezra serened. Obi-wan looked back.
"Yes, Ezra?"
"Is there anyway you can get me on a mission?"
Obi-wan smiled, "I'll see what I can do."
---
"What was that whole 'mission' thing about?" Ahsoka asked. They were walking down the hallway at a steady pace.
"Whenever Ezra is in doubt, we usually send him on a mission so he can gain back his confidence," Anakin responded.
"We also sent Ezra on one the first time they got to him. Though it didn't help much, as you can tell by the way he acts sometimes. Nonetheless, it keeps him from doing anything too reckless," Obi-wan added. That reminded Ahsoka of something.
The way Ezra acts now, wasn't the way he acted before the Separatists reached his mind. He was obedient to the masters and followed instructions. Now, however, he doesn't obey as much as he did. Over the past few months he kept breaking orders just because he didn't agree with them, and was messing around in battle for the fun of it. Or just had an attitude. Ezra would be a sarcastic ass at the wrong time. He was once sarcastic in front of the Council by accident and was yelled at by Master Windu after.
"Do you think that it would change the way Ezra acts again?" Ahsoka questioned.
Obi-wan frowned, "I can't be for certain, Ahsoka. Yet, considering last time it did. Let's just pray to the Force it doesn't happen this time."
