He's Here [Asa Butterfield fan fic]

Chapter 11

Dianne's POV

"Mom, can I eat breakfast in my room?" I pleaded at Mom.

"Why?" She asks. 

"So that I can study, for the exams." I replied. 

        "Here." she was about to give my sandwiches but she speaks again. "But you'll have lunch and dinner with us." she said. I nod then headed to my room.

"Oh. Good morning Asa." I greeted him when we met upstairs. 

        "Morning to you too." He says back then went downstairs. I got goosebumps when I remembered what happened yesterday morning. I shake the thought out of my head then entered my room.

        I opened my Science book and took a bite from my sandwich. When I was about to finish my first sandwich, I forgot to get a glass of juice. 

        I went downstairs to get the juice. When I reached the table, the jar of juice was already empty. I decided to get a bottle of water instead then went upstairs. 

        On the 5th step, I tripped and the bottle of water went rolling down. I went a few steps down and picked the bottle. Then went back to my room.

       When I entered my room, my toe stubbed on one leg of the bed. "Owww. Shoot." I hold my toe for a while and let go when the pain disappears. I sat back on my chair, but since it has wheels, it rolled away and I fell to the floor. Ughhh.

        "Are you ok there Dianne?!" dad shouted from the living room. "Yup! My book just fell on the floor." I answer back. 

        I put my chair back in place and continued reading my book. I reached for my second sandwich and took a bite. I read peacefully in a few minutes.

Suddenly, something makes a noise on the roof.

        Maybe a cat, or a mouse, a big mouse. Or maybe the cat is chasing the mouse. But how can the mouse get up there? Maybe because the ca- Wait. What am I doing?

"I should be reading now, not being distracted by those things." I said to myself.

        I grab my bottle of water and drink but some water went to my nose. I placed the water on the table and felt my nose. "Ouch, that stings a lot." I grumbled. I walked around my room while grumbling.

        *sigh* I breathe in then breathe out. I need to relax. I continued reading my Science book. I should have read 7 pages by now but because of this... this unluckiness; I'm still stuck in the second page.

        I turned to the next page and my hand hits the bottle of water. Because it wasn't closed, the water spilled down to the wooden floor. I immediately stand the bottle back and went downstairs to grab some fabric.

        And again, I tripped on the stairs. I immediately went back to my room to wipe the water on the floor. I wipe the fabric on the water and when there was no more, I went downstairs. 

This time, I missed a step on the stairs and was about to fall but Asa caught me. 

        "Having a bad day?" he asked. "You bet." I chuckled. I dried the fabric then went upstairs again. I slowly walked up the stairs. 

        And on the very last step, I tripped. Ughh, why?!?!  I stomped back to my room and sat on the chair. I spun around and relaxed. 

        Just relax. All of these will soon be over. I went back to reading my book and finally I can fully understand the lesson.

        "Dianne! Lunch is ready!" dad called from downstairs. "Coming!" I replied and closed my history book. I finished reading science minutes ago.

        I went downstairs with no harm done. I walked to the dining but... I stub my toe on the table.

        I gritted my teeth and tried to stay calm. "Sorry." I apologized. I sat on my seat and ate lunch.

        I ate my last piece of beef and drank water. "Thanks for the lunch dad." I said to dad.

        I walked upstairs and missed a step. I grab onto the handle and walked to room.

        My ringtone started to ring loudly from my phone. I picked it up and saw a message.

MARLD group chat:

Reign: Guys, how about we have a group study later?

Lana: Where?

Reign: idk. Anyone whose parents won't mind us coming?

        My door opened and mom sat beside me on the bed.

        "Sweetie, we're going to Coldwindland [I just made that up and I think it sucks tbh] later. Around 5 maybe and we'll come back tomorrow night. If not, maybe the next morning." Mom explains.

I nod. "Can I invite my friends over? They said we should have a group study. Is it ok?" I ask her.

"Sure, honey." she smiles then leaves. I turn back to my phone and text my friends.

Reign: idk. Anyone whose parents won't mind us coming?

Reign: Big sis is gonna have a party here so not my house.

Lana: My parents will have a meeting with their co-workers here.

May: Mom's inviting her friends.

Ana: Brother doesn't want to be disturbed.

Dianne: Just asked mom. She said it would be fine. Just come around 5:30.

Reign: Thanks!

Dianne: No probs.

I went my parent's room and told them that my friends will come later to have a group study.

        I returned to my room and rest for while; laying on the bed and staring at the ceiling. Is there anymore unluckiness coming? 

A/N:

I updated! woot! woot! First day of school was exhausting; teachers already have tasks for us. Next update will be next week. I already got a plan on what will happen. So stay in touch readers! A lot of things will happen on the upcoming chapters!
