Chapter 19

Dianne's POV

        I woke up with a smile on my face. Today is the first day of our 2 week vacation and on the last day of next week, our graduation will be held. I can't wait for it.

        I was brought back to reality when mom comes in my room.

"Oh, good morning sweetie. I was just about to wake you up." She said and sits at the end of my bed.

"Why? Are we going somewhere?" I asked as I sat up.

"No but we'll have a talk with some people." Mom replies.

"Who?" "Asa's family."

"Asa's f-family? T-they're here too?" My voice becomes louder as I spoke.

        Mom shook her head no and chuckles at me. "We're just going to have a video chat with them later this afternoon." I nod my head as I understand the situation better.

        "Well, since you're awake already, go and eat breakfast downstairs ok?" Mom stands up, kisses my head then leaves.

        I looked at my bedside clock; 9:15 am. I rub my eyes and stretched my arms. I looked around my room for a while and went to the bathroom to wash my face and do my business.

        Then I went downstairs to eat breakfast.

"Morning mom, morning dad, morning Asa." I greeted them as I carefully walked down.

        As I reached the kitchen, I smell the pancakes that dad cooked. I sat down on the table and eat my 3 pancakes covered with some chocolate syrup. YUM!

        When I finished eating, I brought the plate to the sink and drank orange juice. I went upstairs to have a bath. Then I picked my clothes which were mint colored shirt that has the doodled word Arts in it and jeans. I just tied my hair into a ponytail. I grabbed my phone from my desk then went downstairs.

        I saw my parents helping each other cooking lunch and Asa sitting on the living room couch watching a movie. He didn't notice me come down so I came up with an idea. I sneak behind him and cover his eyes with my hands.

"Guess who?" I let out a giggle. He chuckles and shakes his head. He holds my hands and tries to get them off.

"Dianne." He chuckles. "No."

"Beatrice?" He tries to guess again. "Nope."

"Dianne Beatrice Brookins." He laughs. I laughed too then sat beside him.

        We watched Spiderman for a while.

"Hey Asa, weren't you one of the picked actors to play Spiderman?" I asked him. "Yeah."

"Why weren't you picked?" I asked again.

"Maybe it's not really my thing. It's ok. At least I was picked for The Space Between Us." He replies.

"Yeah, you did great on that movie."

"Only great?" He raises an eyebrow at me and smirks.

"Yeah. What do you want me to say?" I asked.

"I don't know. Like you did excellent on it, you could win an award for it." He smiles at me. "Whatever Asa." He chuckles and I do too.

"Lovebirds, time for lunch." Dad calls us.

        He has no plan to stop calling us that. We stood up and sat beside each other at the dining table. We ate peacefully and returned back to watching TV.

1:20 pm

        "Dianne, get yourself ready. Asa's parents will call anytime soon." Dad informed.
