Hunter

"Mae! Quit it!" I yelp as she sprays cold water on me.

She just giggles, "no way! I'm winning!"

I laugh trying to grab the hose away from her grasp. She clings onto it tightly as I grab her waist and try to ring it away from her.

"Mae!" I yell but chuckle and she squeals.

The hose then points at us and it soaks us to the bone. I drop Mae and rush over to the tab and twist it off.

She laughs on the ground, her clothes and hair drenched in water. My dog though, doesn't even have a drop of liquid on his fur. Elbrus is laying on the grass, his leash tied to the fence.

"Oh Elbrus." She sighs, still giggling.

I smile sweetly, "you're quite something, you know that?"

She brightens up, "kinda, but thank you."

Her modesty is adorable, honestly. We stay quiet for a little while before drying ourselves off and changing into new clothes.

Since Mae didn't have any extra clothing I let her borrow an extra tshirt and pajama shorts while I stuffed her wet clothes in the dryer for a little bit.

"Hey, let's watch a movie!" She suggests, clicking the remote to go on Demand.

I shrug, joining her on the couch, "that's fine by me. It's still early so let's do it."

"Perfect! Yeah, I love C but this whole wedding planning has gotten her in a mess, I needed some time away."

"But Madison's getting married." I say, confusion swarming me.

Mae laughs, "yeah, but Christina has basically taken over, so now it's more like her wedding for Madds and Bailey."

"Well," I chuckle, "at least she's doing it for them."

"Yup! Okay, Spider-Man movie sound good to you?"

I look at the screen, a picture of Spider-Man crawling on a tower catches my eyes.

"Fine with me."

"Great." Mae clicks the play button and the beginning credits start with soothing music.

"You know what the best part about you is?" I mention.

Mae twists to look at me, "what?"

"That you only like to watch action and adventure movies, not romantic anything." I tease.

"Oh my," she giggles and smacks my arm, "whatever."

I laugh and then stand up, "I'm going to go make your food."

She gasps in delight, "popcorn?! You have popcorn and I didn't know?!"

"Well you do now!" I wink and leave to go to the kitchen.

I pull a package out of the pantry, setting it in the microwave to heat up. The kernels are loud as they bang against the paper and soon enough they're done so I pull out a red bowl to pour it all in.

I come back to the living room to find the movie playing but Mae is fast asleep. She's laying horizontally on the couch, resting her head on Elbrus.

I grin at how cute my girlfriend and very dry dog is, what else do I need in my life?
