I begin with explaining my childhood -leaving out the heart wrenching part about Carson - and just start out by telling him about leaving Arlington to go live in Kansas for the rest of my life. Then my college experience, then my mindset when my first novel was a big seller. Though, I leave the best for last when I reminisce on the amazing and cherishing moment about coming back to Arlington to live with my best friends in a cute house.
"Wow, you've had quite a life." He whistles in astonishment.
"Yeah, yeah I have." I show him a small smile.
"So what are your friends like?" He wonders.
"I've got three, Madison, Christina, and Kaitlyn. Madison is our dancer, she is an instructor and teaches classes at a prestigious studio. Then there's Christina who's the famous actress in our humble home, she's awesome. And Kaitlyn, she sings for our church and is our music leader, but she also sings at other local spots around town if she gets the opportunity. She's doing a amazing as well as far as her career goes." I say.
"They seem great!"
"They are. Like Madison is the total dare devil, she's my go-to-gal for sports, and we will laugh over the most stupidest things ever. Now Christina, she's the girl who can talk with for hours on end. She has helped me with a ton of boy problems and is always there for me, I mean all of them are supportive, but Christina gets me. Kaitlyn, she's the wise one. All she does is spit the bible at us which has saved our butts more than once, she is definitely the one who can keep us in check. But when we're all together, we are the most craziest, awful mannered, amazing group of best friends. I love them to death."
"Yeah I can tell." He chuckles.
"Well what can I say? They're my girls."

I unlock the door to my house, and as soon as I walk inside, I'm welcomed to a bunch of screaming girls.
"Mae!" Kaitlyn cheers.
"Oh my gosh you're home!" Christina yells.
"Yay you're back!" Madison erupts.
Soon enough I'm swarmed by their loving arms, which comforts me because now I know I'm safe at home.

"So how was Kansas?" Kaitlyn wonders.
We've ventured off into my room so I can unpack, Kaitlyn and Christina sit on my bed, while Madison lays on the ground folding clothes as I take them out of my suitcase.
"It was good, it was really nice to see my family again. I was thrilled to hang out with them." I smile.
"Well that's fun! How was the book tour?" Madison asks as she grabs a red sweater and neatly folds it.
"It went smoothly and don't get me wrong, I loved every single second of it, but I'm more than happy to be back here." I explain, "and even the plane ride was awesome, but I missed home."
"Why was the plane ride awesome?" Christina wearily questions.
"Oh no reason." I stammer.
"Maaaae."
"Well, I mean, I met this guy named-"
A loud gasp came from all three girls, making me blush.
"What?" I innocently ask.
"You just said guy. Who is this?" Christina says.
"Just a boy named Hunter, he's really awesome. He's nice, funny, has a good laugh. When we talked it felt like we've been best friends forever. It was almost like talking to Car-" I stop short when my heart skips a beat and I realize what I was about to mention.
"You mean Carson?" Madison whispers.
I look down at my bag, a familiar pain in my chest reoccurring, "yeah, him."
"Do you like this Hunter?" Kaitlyn throws out, trying her best to get the thought of Carson out of my mind.
I ponder on this thought, no way should I be liking another guy. After Carson? I should've learned my lesson from that, but now it seems like I smile every time I hear or think of Hunter. He was so nice to me and we had a great time with each other, then again, it's too soon to recognize any feelings for a boy I might not even see again.
"I don't know. I doubt it, I've seen him twice and may never again, why stir some fake feelings just to be all thrown away again?"
They're all silent for a little bit before Christina speaks up, "guess so, huh?"
