"What happened? Vanessa, why isn't she answering?"
Vanessa is a short girl with simple, black hair and dull brown eyes. She nervously twirls her hair and presses the button again, leaning forwards. "Hello? Kanna?"
No answer.
A large man is standing behind her chair, rubbing his head in frustration. They're each staring at a giant screen hung on the wall in front of them. It surveys a large room, where the floor is covered in glass and large creatures are wandering around.
"Where did she go?"
"I don't know."
"Then find her!"
"I can't! She passed out and then they took her somewhere!" Vanessa leans towards the microphone again. "Kanna?"
No answer.
Vanessa sits back in her chair and sighs. "She's not going to answer."
"Well try again, because she dies if we don't get her out of there soon."
"She might already be gone."
The man bites his lip and frowns, worry creasing across his face. "For her sake, let's hope not."
