"Hey, do you think he's evil?"

"I don't know, man... he looks kinda like a puppy."

"How old is he?"

"Who knows."

"Come on guys, he's waking up. Give him some space."

Lu slowly opened his eyes, wincing as he realized the dull pain shaking through his body. Three boys stood above him, all different heights, all different ages.

"Morning, sunshine! Welcome to hell!"

Lu frowned at a short boy with sandy red hair. The boy had a wide grin spread across his face.

"Hey, don't just say stuff like that! Let him adjust first!" Another boy shoved the first. He had deep blue eyes and dark brown hair that was just below his ears. It was messy and tangled. "You have to let em' in easy."

The sandy haired boy rolled his eyes. "Whatever, Chase. Just chill, okay? The idiot put himself here in the first place, right? He doesn't deserve 'space.'"

Chase glared at him. Lu looked over to see the third boy reaching for him. He had jet black hair. "Here, let me help you up."

Lu winced as the boy tugged his arm, sending a wave of pain throughout his body.

"Oh, sorry! I forgot..." The third boy's eyes widened with panic. "I didn't mean to hurt you, sorry man."

"It's..." Lu stopped as he listened to his scratchy voice. He swallowed and tried again. "It's fine."

"My name's Shawn," The sandy red haired boy said. "This is Chase, and this is Milo. Who're you?"

"Um..." Lu frowned for a moment. "La... Le... Lu?" He nodded as he found the right sounds. "Lu. I'm Lu."

"Ha, that's a retarded name." Shawn laughed and patted Lu on the back. Lu winced as more pain shot through him.

"Be careful with him!" Chase complained. "He's been through some deep shit, okay?"

"Oh! He did it!" Shawn shouted, throwing his arms in the air. "Teacher's pet cussed! What a momentous occasion!" He jumped into Chase, almost knocking him over.

"Shut up..." Chase mumbled.

Lu shuffled nervously. "Um... where am I?"

"Hell. You're in hell puppy dog, got that? You're dead."

Lu stared at Shawn for a moment, then shook his head. "What? That doesn't..."

"He's not lying."

Lu looked up at Milo.

"You really did die. You'll remember how soon, but first all of your other memories have to come back. Be patient."

What?

Lu felt like every part of him was immediately overwhelmed. "What? But... but I..."

"And when you do remember, you can tell us what awful thing you did to get yourself put down here." Shawn smirks and folds his arms. "I bet it was pretty bad, for someone as cute as you."

Lu's face went beat red, and he quickly looked down at the floor. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Hey, guys, she's waking up!"

Lu looked over as Milo, Shawn, and Chase ran over to the other side of the room. A girl was laying on the floor there, her eyes starting to flutter open. Lu scanned the room they were in. The walls were white, and it had two doors on opposite sides. There was a low metal ceiling. The room seemed to be a perfect square.

"Morning sunshine!"

Lu's attention was brought back to the girl.

"Are you seriously gonna say that every time, Shawn?" Chase mumbled.

"I sure am, Chase. Welcome to hell, my dear! It's filled with fucking death!"

The girl looks more confused than anyone I've ever seen. Confused, and scared. "Who are you people?! What do you want with me!"

"Ha, she thinks we kidnapped her or something." Shawn laughed.

Milo rolled his eyes. "Look, we won't hurt you."

"Yeah, sure." The girl stood up and stumbled backwards, falling right on top of Lu. Lu gasped as he slammed into the floor, intense pain running through him. Why does everything hurt so much? The girl gasped as well and stood back up, scrambling away from all of them.

"Wait I don't know them either, I just woke up right before you..." Lu moved towards her but stopped as he watched her flinch. Then he cautiously moved to sit next to her. He stayed slow and made sure she could see what he was doing. "I don't know anything about them, but if they wanted to hurt you, they probably already would have while you were sleeping, right?"

She nodded.

"I'm Lu." He held out his hand.

The girl gave him a small smile, then took his hand. She hesitated for a moment, frowning. "I think... I'm Vanessa."
