"What's your name?" I ask gently, handing him a cup of water.

"Toby." He murmurs.

"Toby, huh?" I slide down on the floor next to him.

"At least, I think it's Toby. That's what the lady called me."

"That's Vanessa. Don't trust her." I say.

"Why?"

"Because she lies. Because she put you here." I'm not gonna lie to him like Lu did to me. He can handle it. I turn to look at Toby's face. He's still shaking. Hopefully...

"But... she saved me." He whispers.

I go quiet. In reality, Vanessa saved me too. "To be honest, Toby, I don't know what's going on. I just know that we have to get out of here, and that means you'll have to trust us." I turn my body towards his. "My name is Kanna. That other guy? He's Lu. And we're going to get out of this place, okay? All of us." I stand up. "I'm gonna go check on Lu, so why don't you try to get some sleep. When you wake up, you should start remembering more about who you are." He nods.

I step out of the square room and sigh, leaning against the door.

Now, there are three people.

I wonder, which one of us will die first?

I shake the negative thought out of my head and start heading down the hall. I've gotta find Lu...

I turn towards the electric room to see the door propped open. I step inside. "Lu?" I say softly.

"What." He's messing with one of the control panels, taking apart pieces of it and then sticking them back on.

"What was that? Why are you so angry?"

He's quiet for a moment. He pushes his blonde hair back and stops touching the panel. "She's toying with me."

I move forward, but he holds up a hand. "Just... listen," he says. "I started with a speaker too. And when I came here, there were four others. And all of them listened to everything the witch told them. They claimed that that was how they'd survived for so long." A tear falls from his eye. He wipes it away quickly and takes a deep breath. "But, over time, I started to see that she wasn't helping us. She was holding us back. She was sending us to our deaths, telling us to trust the wrong people. Eventually, because of what she told them to do, everyone else but me died. Right before my eyes." He bends over and slams the edge of the control panel. "It's not fair! It's not fair that they died, just because she decided they should!"

"Lu..." I whisper. Something wet slides down my cheek.

He grits his teeth and straightens up. "And now, she has the audacity to send another poor kid to his death... and for what? Why? Why now?"

I reach forward, grab his arm, and pull him into a hug. "We're going to get through this."

"But..."

"I promise. We're getting out, and we'll go to a place where she can't hurt you anymore, okay?" I looked into his eyes and brushed the hair out of his face. "We can do this."

He nods, slowly. "Okay, bandages."

I roll my eyes. "Come on, let's go back and get some sleep. And when we wake up, you can apologize to Toby."

"Toby?"

"Yeah." I push the door open and leave the room.

Lu watched as Kanna left the room. He moved to follow, but then stopped.

"I love you." He whispered.

Then, after a few more moments of stillness, he followed her out the door.
